Built on top of a private hill, villa Volpi is the crown jewel of Tenuta di Tramonte, an exclusive estate surrounded by over 40 acres of vineyards and olive groves a short distance from Lucca and all the best that Tuscany has to offer. This ancient convent has been recently renovated to the highest standards, offering unrivalled comfort and luxury while maintaining the characteristic timeless charm and authenticity of a centuries-old villa.

Villa Volpi encapsulates the essence of the Tuscan lifestyle. Beautiful gardens, romantic hideouts and sprawling views combine to create an impression of timeless beauty. The villa’s large rooms, decorated with taste, invite nature inside. The large swimming pool offers specacular views of the surrounding hill and the sunset. The villa can accommodate up to 18 people in single or king size beds.

Originally built in the 19th century by bishop Volpi of Lucca as a private residence, the villa is at the heart of an organic agricultural estate producing extra virgin olive oil, red and white wine as well as fruits and vegetables that guests can enjoy during their stay.

The beautiful rooms, with apparent wooden beams and dark terracotta ceilings, offer 360° views of the Apennines, the hills and the plain of Lucca. Recently renovated with taste down to the smallest details, they have kept the charm of the time intact. The former chapel is the perfect spot to practice yoga, Pilates and other activities.

Wide gardens surround the house and boast numerous areas for outdoor dining and relaxing, spectacular views and hidden spots between centuries-old trees. The unique swimming pool offers total privacy and beautiful views of the sunsets over the Tuscan hills.

The villa is only a 15 minutes drive from the center of Lucca, and is also accessible by train from the nearby station in Ponte a Moriano. Pisa and Florence airports are only 45 minutes away, and Siena, San Gimignano and the Cinque Terre are all within easy reach for day trips. The surrounding hills are dotted with wineries and ancient villas.

Upon request, we can organize breakfast, lunches and dinners with private chefs, pizza nights, yoga and Pilates classes (mats are available at the villa), massages, wine and local products tastings, walks in the hills, boat rides in the Cinque Terre and many other things.

Wunderschöner Aufenthalt mit der Famile

Zwei Wochen wie im Paradies. Wunderschöne Villa, großer Garten, einmaliger Natur-Swimmingpool. Super Lage mit tollem Blick über die großartige Landschaft. Nah am schönen Lucca und Pisa. Nette Gastgeber, immer erreichbar und freundlich. Ein nicht zu toppendes Familientreffen, das alle sehr genossen haben.

Magical!

I can't say enough good things about this experience... the Villa was all we'd hoped for and more. The setting is spectacular with gorgeous views; it has the grandeur of it's size and history, and a warm and well-appointed style that made us feel right at home. Our large group made epic meals in the highly functional kitchen, and spent afternoons lounging by the natural pool (I never want to see chlorine again, after that!). Lorenzo and Laurence are responsive hosts, and the staff that works with them are friendly and helpful as well. What an experience! We highly recommend, and hope to come back again!

We Had a Wonderful Time

The house worked perfectly for our family. The days were very hot, so we would have liked air-conditioning in the family room where we often gathered. That would have saved us from multiple mosquito bites. And with our family of 9 each needing to do laundry, a clothes dryer would have been appreciated. The swimming pool was wonderful. Lorenzo was a terrific host. Don't fail to ask him to recommend chefs to cook for you. Both of ours were amazing.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Originally part of the family estate, the villa was sold to the bishop of Lucca in the 1800's and was later turned into a convent. We acquired it back in 2017 as part of our effort to bring the family estate back to its former splendor and renovated the villa to high-end modern standards while keeping its spirit intact.
