Ian and Claire were perfect guests. Very polite, kind and nice, we could also talk about our love for dogs, Claire showed me pictures of her Labrador and it's beautiful. When they left, the villa was in impeccable condition, perfect as when they arrived. hosting them was really nice, super recommended !!!. Thanks Ian and thank you Claire, you will always be welcome.

Honestly, in my 15 years as a host, this is the first time I've received a review like this. I'll be clear: the guests arrived more than four hours later than agreed upon, but that's not a big deal. The pool was perfect; guests probably don't know that leaves need to be removed from the pool every day, which is what I was doing. Guests are obviously required to use trash bags and separate their waste according to the Lucca City Council regulations. Then again... dirty cleaning products? That's a contradiction in terms. The pool loungers are made of acacia wood, purchased new last year. There are six of them, complete with cushions, but if I'd known the guest preferred just one plastic lounger, I wouldn't have bought them. Let's get to the real reasons for the guest's bad review: as soon as they arrived (after a 4-hour delay), they asked for a €100 refund for the dishwasher, which I refunded despite offering to have someone come wash their dishes for them (which was very expensive, but I would have done it). The next morning, I received a call, and the guests told me they wanted to leave, and I specified that they had arrived from Holland, and that they wanted a full refund. Now think about it: during that week, no tourist accommodation was available in the entire province of Lucca, not even one without a pool; not even a room in a terrible hotel. So one can only assume that all of this had been arranged before their arrival, perhaps by finding a cheaper place a few months earlier (their reservation was for the spring). Obviously, it was VRBO that disagreed with the guest and denied the refund, but unfortunately, they can't check the reviews. In any case, it's my fault, because I accepted a booking from people who had no reviews and hadn't been reviewed by other colleagues. I'm truly sorry, because I've dedicated the last 15 years to making my home a true paradise, as the other reviews prove. But in life, you should be honest, and not leave a bad review for no reason. This guest is absolutely not recommended, be careful!!!

Dear Laura, I would like to answer your review point by point, which I do not believe responds to the truth: Surely the car is recommended, in fact it is written in the notes of Homeaway, The villa is 3 km from the historic center I do not think that for this the review must be negative. Train tickets can be bought at the train station, and if you have the wrong times, it doesn't depend on me, there is a website Italian trains and you even had free wifi, but if you don't know how to use the website, there are paper timetables in any stationery (but you have to buy them). I have been hosting people in my villa for 10 years, and no one of mine guests has ever said that the villa was not clean, in fact I have always received compliments. For the accuracy, you had 2 salad bowls and also 2 wine opener (but you didn't know how to use this). Each guest is given 3 towels, 1 large beach towel, 1 medium for hands and 1 small one for underwear, why do you say you didn't have it? This is false! Same thing for the towels for the dishes, you had 2 towels, like all the guests. In every bathroom I always put a new roll of toilet paper, like hand soap, it is clear that this is for the first few days, then you will have to buy them, like you buy food to eat.The garbage system is like in all cities, you have to separate the garbage (plastic glass metal together, and separate organic), put it in the bags (which are provided for the first few days, then you'll have to get them, like soap for the hands), and to put the bags tightly closed in the roadside bins, is it very complicated? I am sorry that it was frustrating to have to ask for everything ... maybe for your next vacation it is better to have a B&B or a hotel where in the morning they also make up your bed and prepare breakfast for you. Then I wonder why you wrote that there are no screens on the windows there are curtains on the windows (you can also see them in the photos) and there are shutters outside the windows, didn't you see them? Regarding communication, it's true that my English is not perfect, but your Italian is non-existent, but it seems to me that we have communicated, I have also given you information and even the taxi driver to reach the villa, and I have not even complained, when you changed your arrival time 3 times, that's fine. But I would like to give you some advice: the next time you leave a villa after your vacation, try to leave it clean, because you left it very dirty, and this is not polite.

Ho avuto il piacere di ospitare Camilla e le sue amiche per una settimana ad agosto 2021. Le ragazze sono state ospiti perfette, hanno portato una ventata di gioventù, sempre sorridenti, gentili e con una educazione “regale”!!!!....Non avrei potuto avere ospiti migliori.
