For me, the check-in process was very stressful. I requested the address in advance as we were driving from California. After over a week of no response, I called VRBO, who was helpful in getting the property manager (owner?) on the phone (this was 3 days prior to our departure). I explained our situation and that I would NOT have email access. Finally, got the address and after further discussion, finally got the code to get in the house. I asked that any further communication be texted to me.
Got to Tucson over 4 hours prior to check-in time. We managed to keep busy, lunch, driving around the area to get out bearings Hung out at a park for a while. Got into the house and was surprised to see all the bedrooms were upstairs. Not mentioned in the website. With all of us between 65 to 77 (disclosed at time of booking), it did cause some difficulty navigating the stairs.
Called the manager, got the wifi login and saw that she sent 2 emails advising we could get into the house before noon. That was a nice gesture, however, since I had no email access, it didn't help. No text communication as previously requested.
House was clean for the most part. Dusty baseboards and some some kitchen items had to be washed before use.
Wasn't happy to learn we had to do housekeeping the NIGHT before we left. Stripping beds, washing towels, running dishwasher, taking out trash...really? Wouldn't have bother me if that had been disclosed in advance.
Location was perfect for our visit.
