Private hilltop home with gorgeous view of mountains and Lake Chatuge.

Perfect for multiple families, couples and groups. Spacious 3 floors, each offering a bedroom, bath and den area. The back deck offers wooded serenity, hummingbirds and beautiful views.

Tons to do in the area: hiking, boating, fishing, paddling all nearby. There are several excellent boat rental places in the area (Boundary Waters Marina, The Ridges Resort and Marina, Lake Chatuge Marine, Young Harris Watersports)!

Activities and attractions in Hiawassee Georgia, Blue Ridge Mountain and Appalachian Mountain.

If you plan to attend a wedding we are just 2 mile away from The Retreat at Hiawassee or 7 mile from Ridges Resort & Marina; 30 minutes away in Murphy, NC is the new Harrahs Valley Casino

Hiawassee has a wonderful 4th of July parade & Fall Festivals.
Georgia Mountain Fair has great music and the John C. Campbell Folk School is well worth the trip.

Be sure to go to Bell Mountain overlook for stunning views of Lake Chatuge and the surrounding area as well as Brasstown Bald the highest point in GA.

Anderson Music Hall and The Fred Hamilton Rhododendron Garden is just around the corner.

National Forest Service and Jackrabbit Park is around the corner, with a beach along with walking and bicycle trails. There are at least 3 major golf courses within 10-15 minute, horseback riding, few local wineries for wine tasting, amazing cinemas and galleries etc.

Lake Chatuge Recreation Area - CNF. GA Hwy. 288. Hiawassee, GA 30546. There is a new public boat ramp nearby, adjacent to the campground with ample parking space.

Don’t forget you’re fishing pole – there’s a season fishing tournaments regularly held on lake Chatuge!

White water rafting is an hour away in Bryson City, N.C.
You must take the 25 min drive to visit Alpine Helen, GA for tubing or zip lining
Helen has putt-putt golf, water rafting, a water park and many restaurants, store and crafts, very cute German town. Wineries abound; they’re everywhere.
Don't forget the Cabbage Patch babies in Cleveland. Locally we have Fun World for the kids and a movie cinema for the whole family.

Young Harris, Ga. and Hayesville, NC. both 10 minutes away have some of the nicest stables you'll ever see. Harrahs Valley Casino in Murphy, NC is 30 min away!

GA on our mind

The house was perfect for our families. In laws, children and grandchild spent some quality time together. We did the local adventures during the day and hung out at the house in the evenings. Bon fire and hot tub were an excellent way to spend quality time together. There was a great view of the lake from the wrap around porch. Each floor offered bedrooms and bathrooms and there were lounging options as well. Great time was spent enjoying our stay at Dragonfly.

Large Comfortable House

Private, beautiful home with a fantastic view - and I believe the best sunset! Open communication with owners. Close to everything in Hiawassee. Very comfortable furniture/beds with endless hot water! A lot of space (in door and out) for everyone to be together or a quite place to be alone too. Lots of extras supplied (appreciated the make up wipes and blow dryers). Our 3 families enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Home

Honestly, we wish that we had more time to spend at the house. It is beautiful, comfortable, tastefully decorated and with a beautiful view. I don't think that I have ever experienced a better stocked kitchen in a short term rental!! There is lots of room to spread out with rooms spread across three floors.

The house was beautiful, plenty of room for all 10 of us to spread out. Conveniently located within all of the things we got to do during the day and enjoyed that porch at night!

Missy and Dave love to travel and explore new places. Hiking and kayaking are what we enjoy most. We recently deciding to share our home with others and are striving to create an incredible, fun space for families and friends to gather.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We feel the views at DragonFly Hideaway are the best in the region and you don't have to have 4 wheel drive to get to our home! You can watch the mountains for hours as they change with the clouds and the weather. Close to the AT and other great hiking spots or a quick drive to many fun places to explore.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We have stocked Dragonfly with multiple games, cards, puzzles and a guitar. If someone in your group knows how to play, you can have sing alongs around the fire pit or deck.
We have extended the corner railing on the deck and provided bar stools to maximize the view for happy hour!
Each floor has its own bath and we have maximized the number of beds! 1 King, 2 Queens, 2 Full, 2 Twins (trundle), a Futon, and 2 Air Mattresses!
