Celina provided excellent communication throughout our trip. This is our second time staying here. We had an issue with the grill that was mitigated quickly once I notified her. It was a pleasure staying there. Will definitely stay here again.
Great day for the whole family. Being on the lake makes for a great vacation. Every day the kids were out swimming fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. We rented a boat for two days and kept it docked at the cabin, which was wonderful. The house was very comfortable and well-maintained. Overall, I would highly recommend this home for a vacation.
We were looking for a lake front property for easy, safe access to the water for our grandkids. We found that and more. The property is well presented on the VRBO site. Owner is responsive and easy to work with. Good communication before and during our stay. Check in was easy. As mentioned on the site there are steps from the house to the floating dock. My wife counted 50. I am 78, our grandkids are 13,11 and 9. We all did fine using the steps. We enjoyed swimming off the dock and used all four kayaks multiple times. Sunset view a plus. Property location a plus. On a quiet inlet, very little lake traffic. Easy access off the highway, close to the market (4 miles), 5 min to Jack Rabbit Trailhead for hiking/mountain biking. We found waterfall hikes, mountain top views and lake shore walks all within about a 20 min drive. Georgia Mountain Fair site had a free Thursday night family friendly concert. Nice brewpub in Hayesville. Unit is well equipped. There were a few things we had to pick up at The Dollar store but not an issue for us. We plan to return next year.
There were some small concerns when we arrived but nothing worth getting upset about. We spoke with the owner after we got home, she is very communicative and very fair. The views are so great and you can see the fish in the water. My son fished every day and caught his share. A couple really nice large mouth. We visited the Cherokee reservation area and just relaxed on the deck. This is a great home with a very good owner she listens and will work with anyone.
.My family of 7 (three generations) really enjoyed our weeklong vacation at the lake. We rented a boat for a couple of days, but the children loved just swimming and fishing off the dock The place is great to visit with family. I recommend anyone who has difficulty with stairs bring walking poles. The grandparents loved using them to come down to the dock. We had a storm the first night which threw out the power in the entire area (the water is powered by a well so the short trip to Ingles was very helpful). Celina was very communicative. We really enjoyed our stay and have already booked for another visit.
I have stayed in other places on Lake Hiawasee and this one is one I would return to in a heartbeat. The updated bathrooms were great as well as the beds/rooms and open space with two places to gather (teenagers in the basement)
The quiet cove is amazing and peaceful and was a true highlight of the trip. We paddle boarded (first time)/kayaked, rented a boat overnight and just had a blast with all the toys. We didn't cook much, but we found everything we needed in the kitchen that we could want.
The only con, and it's small, is that it can feel a bit stuffy at night during the heat of the summer, as the vents are on the floor. Luckily we brought some of our own fans from home and were prepared.
Still, we will be back no doubt in the future.
Overall, this was a really nice place. The dock was perfect for our pontoon boat. Parking the trailer was tricky as there are very narrow streets and we had to drive to find a place to make a U-Turn when it was time to leave and load the boat. The decks could use a good, deep cleaning as there was a lot of dirt, leaves, and a TON of spiders and webs. We didn't feel comfortable without shoes until we had swept and bought bug spray to spray. The kitchen is small and there is really no place to store food so we kept our provisions in tubs against the wall. We couldn't get the tv to work so we didn't watch any tv...which is okay since we were here to enjoy the lake. We did have a mishap with the stairs going down to the boat dock. There are stone steps and a railing made out of tree branches. There are no lights and my brother-in-law was coming down the steps one evening and used the branch railing for support. The railing was not attached and as a result, he tripped and rolled all the way down the very steep slope and landed in a heap after a 5 ft. drop onto the rocky shore. An ambulance was called and he recovered sufficiently after not being able to move his leg. He was badly bruised and very sore. My other brother-in-law sprained both his ankle and knee in an attempt to catch him as he rolled down the slope. (He ended up in the water and mud.) It was an unfortunate accident but there should be lights along the stone steps and a more substantial railing should be installed. We plan to contact the owner directly regarding this. She was extremely kind when we spoke on the phone. In spite of this, we had an enjoyable week together as a family. A few little "attentions to detail" would make a big improvement.
We enjoyed this house so much! Furniture is comfortable, beds a bit firm for our taste, but otherwise, everything was wonderful! The back porch view of the lake is spectacular! Fishing was enjoyable and we caught a large catfish and a gigantic yellow carp, which we threw back. Plenty of room for everyone. Close to stores and restaurants. We plan to be back next year!
The property was very nice. Being in a cove with no boat traffic so the kids could play in the water with no worries was nice. There was 5 adults and 2 kids and plenty of room for everybody. We would definitely stay here again.
The property met our expectations. Loved the layout of the house. We brought our own pontoon so the dock was perfect. The cove was quiet with no boat traffic so the kids could swim and kayak. Loved the upstairs deck with a large table for playing cards//games. Nice kitchen set. Would definitely recommend to my friends.
Beautiful property on Lake Chatuge. We rented a pontoon boat that fit nicely in their boat house. We enjoyed using their kayaks as well. Grandkids played in the water off the dock and caught some fish near the dock. The weather was wonderful the first half of our trip even enjoying sâmores in the backyard fire pit. The property manager was very courteous and responded immediately to any question we had. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the getaway and enjoy the water and the mountains!
We had a very nice stay at the KAM house. Celina had great instructions outlined and excellent communication. The only negative was the home was pretty dusty, but it may have been due to the recent remodel of the bathroom (which was beautifully done) Celina has some very nice touches to make the stay extra nice. The linens were all clean and very comfortable. We felt at home during our visit. We would definitely stay again.
The house and the lake were beautiful. We had success fishing from the houses dock. Overall it was a wonderful stay and communication was excellent as well.
Nice location on the water with a decent sized dock. We had lots of fun with our family. The house was updated and we'll taken care of. We enjoyed many hours of card playing on the large back deck that was also covered. Which was nice because we did get some rain. Overall great experience!
This is a beautiful house on a quiet cove. Perfect dock for rental pontoon and having the paddle board and kayaks for use was great. We loved hanging out on the dock all day and on the deck at night. Perfect location and set up with 2 bedrooms on the main floor and 2 in the basement with a 2nd TV area for the teens. We have been going to Lake Chatuge for over 10 years and this is one of the best houses we have stayed in. Comfortable beds, plenty of linens and kitchen supplies, and great location. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend!
This is our 2nd yr to stay at this location. Easy to book, great lake location, close proximity to town! Deep water dock, boat slip at house if you bring your boat, excellent for swimming due to almost no boat traffic. Owners provide 2 kayaks and 1 paddle board for your pleasure! Wifi. This place is clean and very relaxing, yet great water sport opportunities! Close to marinas if you want to rent a boat or jet skis! Short drive to Bell Mtn to watch the sunset over the lake and view the mountain range. Great shopping at Alexanderâs. Eat on the open air deck at the marina and a wonderful evening meal at Brothers Restaurant. Donât hesitate to book this place. You wonât be disappointed! Weâre already thinking about our stay at this location next year!
Had a great time here using the facilities provided - swimming, fishing, paddling. Georgia Mountain Fair was great fun - especially the musical entertainment. We hiked to mountain vistas and impressive waterfalls. Wine tasting with a great view. The house is large, modern and nicely decorated. We grilled on the porch almost all our meals. Wonderful week.
Beautiful home with the perfect layout! Amazing back deck with gorgeous large table for dining. Great dock .. really everything we needed! Comfortable beds and bedding. Thank you!
Hi, Welcome to our Lake House. I'm Celina and my husband, Scott and I bought this house with my brother Van and our mom Shirley. Our kids are Kasi, Amy and Max so we call it the KAM lake house.
We all have ties to the NC mountains and wanted a place for our families to gather for vacations and holidays. We have several family members in the area. We love the lake, the mountains, and the trails. We rented this house several times before we purchased it. We hope you enjoy it too.
This property is right on the lake. The recent upgrades to the bathrooms make it like a home, not just a vacation rental. The cove we are on is quiet and we have little boat traffic. This house is a great place to stay year-round.
