The Oz Cathedral sits atop Beech Mountain at 5,345’ elevation. A very short walk to the top chairlift and Skybar 5506’ mark the neighborhood’s entrance. From the 2+ story windows and private decks, catch spectacular sunrises and sunsets, Fall colors, and views extending over 40 miles. You can see 3 states from various places in the house. Oz Cathedral is an expansive 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath mountaintop chalet available for your private use.
On entering, you will be astounded by the massive 2-and-half-story vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing what this is all about...the breathtaking VIEW! Sitting above the clouds, you can see Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Mount Mitchell, and Roan Mountain.

★ On the main floor ★
In the living space, double sofas encase the floor-to-ceiling fireplace and swivel chairs to the view. This extends to the 10+seating dining area surrounded by windows and to the gourmet, fully-outfitted kitchen of solid wood cabinetry, granite counters, and stainless appliances including gas stove.
These areas open to a two-tiered deck with raised fireplace and gas grill.
The main floor also hosts the master bedroom with a queen bed and fireplace, full stone bath with soaking tub, and private deck of its own!
There is also a laundry room and half bath on the main floor. Linens and towels are provided so no having to make beds on your own. Starter amounts of toiletries, dish and dishwasher soap, trash bags, and tp are provided.
The walls, ceilings, and floors are wood and stone for an exquisite yet inviting mountain experience.

★Upstairs★
4 bedrooms with queen beds and 2 full baths enjoy a loft den with more breathtaking views. The den offers smart TV, games, puzzles, books, and more.

★Downstairs★
(Currently under construction) Enter the home via the warm garage to kick off and suit up snow gear. An adjoining game room offers a top-of-the-line bumper pool and foosball, large television, and more (cornhole, pong table, etc.). A great place to play!

The massive outside deck is where you will want to spend your time. EXPANSIVE and JAW-DROPPING 180-degree views to the southwest. SPECTACULAR sunsets toward Cherry Gap will all be yours in the evenings and misty, sun-dappled mornings to enjoy while sipping coffee or tea. Some mornings begin fog-shrouded and feeling like you are the only ones in the world. Clearing skies bring beauty beyond belief. You experience a different place with every shift of weather and season.

The chalet is situated in the small vacation town of Beech Mountain, NC. Its mountaintop location and small-town charm offer a wonderful ambiance and a place to relax and refresh. The serene setting and mesmerizing natural surroundings provide plenty of attractions and places of interest for you to visit. Both Beech Mountain & Banner Elk offer skiing/snowboarding, snow tubing, eco-tourism, zip-lining, mountain biking, off-road ATVs, rafting, fly fishing, hiking, golf, fine dining, and shopping all at your fingertips.

• It is HIGHLY recommended to bring a 4WD or AWD to access Beech Mountain. During winter months we HIGHLY suggest bringing snow chains to assist.
