Castro Bali Retreat with Hot Tub in Lush Garden/Zen & High-Tech

Bali Hai Castro is a unique Balinese-influenced holiday home set in San Francisco, 3.4 mi from Moscone Center. This house offers city views and an outdoor hot tub. It is located 2.4 mi from San Francisco’s vibrant Union Square. Local shops, bars, and restaurants are just 5 minutes walk from the property.

Offering 11-foot high ceilings and an air purification system, this home includes home automation light switches with integrated mood lighting, Sonos music, integrated speakers, and remote-controlled operable skylights. This 1-bedroom 1-bath house offers a formal dining room and a modern chef’s kitchen. It has a tropical-themed master suite with an up-lit thatched ceiling, a multi-head glass-enclosed rain shower, heated bathroom tiles and toilet seat. If needed, a very comfortable queen-size air mattress with a memory foam topper is set up in the study area to accommodate up to 4 guests.

Upon arrival, Bali Hai Castro offers guests a variety of teas and coffee, and a bottle of Prosecco. Turkish gowns, a tanning deck, a fire table, and a hot tub are located in the secluded tropical garden.

The Castro District and the landmark Castro Theater are 11 minutes walk away from Bali Hai Castro. Mission Dolores Park is 20 minutes walk away. The nearest airport is San Francisco International Airport, 11 mi from the property.

Hidden gem in the city

Very clean, inviting, and comfortable. Bali theme with orchards to brighten the place up. Very nice host that met us when we arrived and explained everything. Laurence made us feel at home. The Jacuzzi is clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Just a great weekend.

Great host, accommodation and location

Laurence is a fantastic host and we were lucky to have chosen a great property in a central location. The property is immaculately maintained, very well equipped with lots of modern elements and Laurence provided some extra touches which made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and any questions we had pre-stay and during were promptly answered. The house is in a quiet street just a few minutes walk from the MUNI in Castro which takes you into town within 10 mins. Would highly recommend

I’ve lived in San Francisco for 25 years now, prior to which I lived in Asia (Tokyo, Japan to be specific). I also consider myself a citizen of the world, as I have traveled to over 50 countries so far and in addition to English, speak some Japanese and French.

In my travels, I have stayed at some amazing places and know what a difference great hospitality can make to a trip. I, therefore, strive to create an experience at Standout Stays that will be memorable and unique. My aim is that you will come back each time you return to San Francisco to stay here again.

I know the city and surrounding area very well and am always happy to give suggestions to make your stay exceptional. I am also a foodie and am working on a type of food blog — so if you are looking for great restaurants, I can share with you my favorites.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Corona Heights is very centrally located in San Francisco and although it is very quiet with great views and pretty walks, it is very close to the Castro with shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and public transportation options. The house is located on a dead-end street, so there is very little traffic. It is also less than 2 min walk to a great park with stunning views of the city.

This is a very unique property that was renovated in 2012 to resemble 5-Star resorts in Bali and south-east Asia. There are many Zen features including Buddha statues, original artwork, a view deck, a wonderful hot tub located in a private tropical garden, a fire table, patio sofa, mood-lighting with home automation switches, operable skylights with remote controls, TV with Netflix, Hulu, Prime, AppleTV, driveway parking, heated bathroom floor, heated toilet seat, glass enclosed 3-head shower, chef's kitchen, and other amenities.
