Monument Cottage - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Sitting on a quiet, local road, this lovely Edwardian cottage has a pretty front garden with a long lavender border and wooden seats where you can sit and admire the view across to All Saints Church. To the rear of the cottage is a small, enclosed patio (accessed via the kitchen-dining room's bi-fold doors), with a table and chairs for outdoor entertaining. Inside, the cottage has been stylishly refurbished and decorated with a cosy living room and a separate, open-plan kitchen-dining room on the ground floor, and two double bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor.

*Dogs: 1 well-behaved dog welcome at the cottage at an additional cost each. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog and we will then revise your booking confirmation. The pet fee is NOT included in your booking fee. A request for an additional fee per pet will be sent to you after you have placed your booking. Your pet fee must be paid for before your arrival date.

Ground Floor
Entrance Hall:
Step through the front door into a small hallway with original red floor tiles a row of handy hooks to hang coats.

Living Room:
The elegant and cosy living room sits at the front of the cottage, with a view towards All Saints Church. The room is furnished with a comfy, three-seater sofa and armchair, occasional tables with reading lights, and a Smart TV. The original red-tile floor is made snug with a large sisal rug while the original fireplace (not in use) and its surrounding exposed stone wall form an attractive visual focal point.

Kitchen-Dining Room:
Sitting at the rear of the cottage is the Kitchen-Dining Room - the cottage's stunning centrepiece and main socialising area. The Kitchen has a large, multi-functioning central island with a hob, dishwasher and double sink. To one side is a drinks/breakfast station with a Nespresso machine, kettle and toaster, while to the other is a wall of bespoke kitchen units and the oven.

At the far end of the Kitchen is a light, bright and spacious Dining Area, with a lantern roof, a long wooden table to comfortably seat four guests, and a fabulous wood burning stove with an armchair to either side. Bi-fold doors open out to a small but pretty courtyard with a table and chairs, flower pots and planters, and a string of lights to illuminate an al fresco evening meal.
First Floor

Stairs with a sisal carpet and hand rail lead up to the two double bedrooms and family bathroom.

Bedroom One:
The gorgeous master bedroom, decorated in a calming blue and neutral oatmeal colourways, looks out over the neighbouring rooftops and distant rolling Cotswold hills. The bedroom is furnished with a super king-size bed with bedside stools and reading lamps, a chest of drawers, a full-length mirror, with a clothes rail behind, and a comfy day chair.

Bedroom Two:
The cottage's pretty, second bedroom looks out to a view of All Saints Church through an original window with a delightful window ledge - a great place to squeeze on to and watch the slowly passing world go by. The bedroom is furnished with two zip-and-link single beds (2'7") with bedside reading lamps, a chest of drawers and a full-length mirror and a rail on the rear of the door. The beds can be set up as a king-size bed on request.

Family Bathroom:
Situated at the top of the stairs, between the two bedrooms, the bathroom features a P-shaped bath with an over-bath shower, fitted with a rainfall and a handheld shower head, a toilet and a wash basin with a mirror and shaver point.
Outside

To the front of the cottage is a typical cottage garden with a footpath leading to the front door and shrubs and plants to either side. In summertime, sit on the garden seats and watch the bees buzzing over the lavender running the length of the garden path. To the rear is a small, enclosed patio with a table and four chairs, which is accessed through the Kitchen-Dining Room's bi-fold doors.

Monument Cottage is on the Kingham Road, a residential road with free, on-street parking usually available directly outside the property. Guests may also park in the Village Hall car park, across the road.
