You'll love making our place your temporary home right at the base of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

The Space:
Unwind with friends and family while enjoying a classic video game, or have a movie theatre experience with the relaxing feeling of being home. While the rest of your crew plays in the game room take a break in your private HOT TUB.

Off of a lightly traveled road, as soon as you pull into the home, you are welcomed by a long-range mountain view overlooking a peaceful pastured setting. At night, sit on the back porch and soak in a private hot tub or grill your favorite meal with your family.

The townhome is a Duplex, a property that is two adjacent homes that have been remodeled and furnished by the same great designer! You will either be staying on the right or the left unit.

Please know that you have access to the entire home during your stay. This includes all common areas, such as the living room, kitchen, and outdoor space, as well as any private rooms or amenities that are listed in the listing description. We want you to feel at home and encourage you to make yourself comfortable and use all the spaces in the house as you see fit.

Heating issues

Beautiful place but some heating issues and the listing pictures are not accurate. We stayed in unit B, but the game room was not the same as shown in the picture. Very similar tho. Our biggest complaint was the heat issue. The thermostat went out upstairs, causing the heat to not cut off. It was 84 degrees. We did make the owner aware. At first they didn’t know if they could get someone out there, then they confirmed they would be out there that day. After being out all day we come back to the home, nobody ended up coming to fix it. Owner didn’t inform us that plans had changed and they wouldn’t be able to make it out, until I reached back out to let them know the issue wasn’t fixed. So we had to make some adjustments to sleep comfortably. Just wished they would’ve communicated that part better, instead of coming back to the house thinking the issue was fix. Basement also doesn’t have any heat so it gets really cold, you have to use space heater to heat it up. Wish there had been more basic items there that’s needed, such as a broom, dish rag, and pot holders. Other than that it was an okay stay.

Terrible Ruined our Trip NO HEAT

Upon arriving we were told that we were actually staying on the left side of the unit not the right. The left side had many issues with it and was not like the pictures on the right side. It felt like we were swindled because the left side did not have all the things that the right side did. When we walked in though we realized that there was no heat blowing at all and it was December. We started trying to call the property manager and they did not answer. Finally they emailed and said they would send someone out the next day and they sent 5 space heaters. The next day their person told us he was just there to reset it as he was not actually a HVAC guy. We were then told since the living room was 80 degrees when he was there clearly we were fine and the heat did not need to be fixed. They offered a small amount of money back (still haven't seen it) but said since the heaters were heating the one room that well we were fine. 5 space heaters for a home of 3 floors, 5 bedrooms, and 4 living area rooms. I'm a disabled veteran and the heating was not sufficient enough as I continued to tell them. We had to cancel all of our events planned on our last day as it was too cold to venture outside without having heat back at the house and my disability was hurting too much to get cold out and not be able to reheat upon arriving back. There was also dirty dishes, broken trash can, holes in the bathroom walls, no towel rods in two of the bathrooms, missing blinds and many more issues.

My stay at “Winter Gateway”

About the property When we arrived to the property, everything was clean and spotless. We were surprised at how spacious and beautiful the property looked and even joked about buying it for ourselves. **More Importantly** It is located in the best spot possible and we were just a few minutes away from all the popular attractions and museums which proved to be very convenient, we will definitely book this property again. About the Hosts When you think about the perfect hosts, Abe + Kate come to mind. They were very helpful throughout our stay and replied surprisingly quickly to every single one of our questions. Normally hosts take days to reply meanwhile Abe + Kate would reply in only hours and sometimes minutes making our stay more pleasant than ever. Like stated before, we definitely left this property saved and we will book again.
