Our home is located with direct access to the beautiful fresh clean water of Hague Lake. Hague Lake is one of Cortes Islands fresh water non-motorized lakes. Enjoy swimming, paddle boarding, take the canoe out for a paddle. Cortes Natural Food Co-op Store is a block walking distance, where you can get fresh local produce, groceries or daily baked goodies. Located across the street from the Co-op is the Manson Landing Farmers Market held every Friday from 12-3 featuring local artisans, farmers, and bakers. Wander through a coastal trail for 15 min to beautiful Mansons Landing Lagoon for a warm ocean swim. Our home is an excellent spot to enjoy all the wonderful trails and beaches that Cortes has to offer.

There are stunning views of the lake from the whole main floor or on the large deck, where you can watch eagles soar by or relax while your family enjoys the small sandy beach just outside of the backdoor. The main floor consists of a mudroom with laundry, 4 piece bathroom, kitchen, spacious dining and living room with large leather sectional. The home is filled with light and windows which instantly makes you feel at home and one with nature. The main floor has brand new flooring and the walls have been freshly whitewashed (pictures to be updated).

The kitchen comes fully stocked with dishes, utensils, microwave, stove, fridge, dishwasher and coffee maker.

Up the unique spiral stairs are the 5 bedrooms. Two bedrooms have spectacular views of the lake which you can watch the sunrise or reflection of the moon! All the beds are comfortable and provide a restful vacation. Between all the bedrooms there is an additional 4 piece bathroom.

A Magical Escape

We had an amazing stay at this property. The location is beautiful, right by gorgeous Hague Lake and convenient as it’s within short walking distance of a natural foods store with a cafe and bakery that serve excellent coffee and tasty sourdough bread. There is also a tiny bookstore with a wide variety of books and a general store. Swimming and paddle boarding in the lake was one of the highlights of our stay. Deb has 2 SUPs for guests to use. Turtle Island in the middle of the lake has rocks for jumping and diving into the water. Another highlight was hiking the trails in Kw’as park through Cedar and fern forests and Arbutus lined bluffs. The house is very comfortable and functional and is stocked with the basic necessities as well as thoughtful extras like reading glasses and eyeglass cleaner. There are a variety of books to read, movies to watch and games for kids to play. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and the deck has beautiful views with sunny and shaded areas to enjoy. It was quiet and peaceful. We saw lots of birds and wildlife around the garden and on trips around the island. Cortes is a friendly island with so much nature to experience. We would stay here at this cabin again in a heartbeat.

Amazing Hague Lake Vacation!!

We had an amazing visit to Hague Lake on Cortes Island. The cabin was clean, well cared for, spacious, and comfortable. It was very well stocked (everything from water toys, coffee/tea, decent kitchen/cooking supplies, beach towels/toys, games, DVD’s, cooler packs, cleaning and emergency supplies). Rooms were lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The decor was beautiful and it felt like a beautiful second home. The communication was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect and located a cabin away from the main white sand public beach (bring your water shoes or sandals!). The small beach attached to the property wasn’t large enough to sit at (water levels were high this year) but it was perfect for launching water toys. The deck was amazing with patio furniture and a bbq. There was a ample parking and there was a fenced yard (quite slanted, but it has a nice outdoor fireplace plus a very practical foot wash station)! The Co-op (including a bakery and coffee shop), store, burger shack, and book store are close walking distance. As is the museum, school, skate park, community hall, and farmers market. The amazing Manson’s Landing (and all the other Cortes highlights) are also close by. We would definitely highly recommend the property and we’d also rent here again!

Comfortable, cozy property with beautiful views and everything you need to have a great vacation. The kids loved the games, books, and lego! Easy access to the lake and the available SUPs/kayaks/water toys and gear made it for perfect beach days.

Having been a visitor to Cortes Island for many years it holds a special place in our hearts. We fell in love with the warm waters of both the lake and ocean. This home is rare to have lake access so close to your backyard with a small sandy gradual entry for the kids to play.
