Family adventures await in this ocean front house! (Pet friendly!)
The perfect family getaway awaits you at Loftus House. Bring your kayak and paddle board and enjoy an early morning ocean experience or coffee on one of the three ocean facing decks. Our flat back yard is perfect for bocce ball, corn hole or sun bathing. If you get too hot, walk right into the ocean to cool off! Many walking, hiking and bike trails minutes from the house and our ocean side fire pit is a perfect place to end an adventurous day. Enjoy the three bedrooms and three and a half baths as well as our fully stocked kitchen with its over-sized island! Five minute walk to April Point Resort and five minute drive to groceries and amenities.
We had a great stay on this property. It is well set up with everything you need. Fantastic views, we enjoyed watching the cruise ships go by each evening on the deck. I would definitely recommend this property to other families. The neighbour does have a dog who comes to visit, very friendly but the dog is loose on the property a lot, just a heads up to others travelling with dogs or people who may not like dogs.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a weekend away relaxing. The house was well stocked, it was clean and comfy. Lots of seating, great kitchen. We were very happy! We will be back!
Six of us, our two children and their significant others plus two pups, all had an amazing time. Having a bedroom/bathroom for each couple made it very comfortable. We had our own space but had amazing gathering spots inside and outside. Very comfortable and the view....perfection! Sunsets were breathless. Getting our Kayaks out to tour and fish right out the door was awesome. The kitchen was so well equipped and the large island was our gathering hub. Thankyou for your attention to details. We hope to book again.
An amazing house and location. Although we didnât spend the days at the house, it was a great location for Family to get together in the evening. Great kitchen made making dinner a dream. Would definitely stay here again.
This place was perfect for our family. We had 2 children under 4 and 6 adults. Right on the water with a large lawn to play bocce and soccer. It had all the comforts of home and the kitchen was well stocked. Michelle was absolutely wonderful!
We will definitely be back!
The kitchen was fully stocked beyond imagination, everything was at the house we could have wanted and more. Wish we had more time. View was gorgeous. Loved all the space in the house, 3 bedrooms and everyone had their own bathroom which was great.
Great place to stay!
Michele and Cindy were lovely. Thank you so much!
The house was soooo nice and the location perfect! The rooms were all spacious and the beds nice and comfy. We enjoyed the deck for the beautiful view during the day and and the firepit at night. We paddle boarded out to the little island to visit with the seals and other sea life. The kitchen was huge and really well stocked for all our meals. The only negative was that we were super disappointed that there wasnât a spa/whirlpool as included in the listing, (especially after hiking up Chinese Mountain!) otherwise it wouldâve been 5 stars!!!
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Loftus House. It may be the best rental we have ever stayed in. Tons of space for our multigenerational family of 5 plus dog. Terrific view. We had a seal and a pair of bald eagles in the cove every day. Great outdoor space. Loved the decks. Absolutely loved how well secured the decks were so we could leave the doors open and the dog could wander in and out at will. (the house was SO dog friendly)
Not only was the kitchen very well equipped for cooking, but all the drawers and cabinets were labeled so you knew where to find things and where to put them away. I loved that there was plastic wrap and plastic containers to use while we were there. And so much space! I would love for my kitchen to be that big!
All the beds and furniture were very comfortable. Bedrooms had great views with genuinely decent blackout curtains. The down stairs bedroom with two queens stays pretty dark. That might be an issue for some but it was GREAT for our teenagers who wanted to sleep forever. Maybe owners should get a second bed frame though? Loved the soft blankets for lounging in the living rooms.
Location is great. Short drive from the ferry, a decent grocery store and some good restaurants (check out Cafe Aromaâs baked goods).
Only downside was there arenât many places to walk to from the house other than April Point Resort. Otherwise it is pretty perfect.
The property is lovely, the house top-notch with very comfy accoms for 2 couples +2 singles, and the kitchen fully stocked with all the mod cons (very picky detail: no hand mixer for making whipped cream, from a woman who travels with her own knives :P ). There are lots of activities in the near area and shops closeby. We booked for a restful christmas and were able to make a feast for 6 without issue, did some lovely (rainy and windy) walks, and enjoyed the wildlife.
On the downside, we experienced 2 power outages (first one lasting 24 hours, second one >10 hours) in the course of 5 days - not unusual in this part of the world in the winter season - and there is no backup power available. This means: no running water, lights, or electric heat (there's a fireplace in the basement). We are pretty sporty and used to wilderness camping in a tent, but this is very expensive camping...Much thanks to the local property manager who dropped by with a couple of lanterns and a headlamp!
I would suggest to the owners that if they would like to offer this lovely place during windstorm season that they invest in a generator, OR adjust their pricing, warn their guests, and stock more light sources (minimum: a couple of lanterns and headlamps), a pail for flushing in every bathroom, and a water dispenser that doesn't require power to operate. One other tip: the ice dispenser starts to leak after prolonged loss of power, which could result in floor damage.
We had a truly wonderful stay! The kitchen was incredibly spacious and fully stocked with all the gadgets and utensils we needed to prepare mealsâit made cooking a pleasure. The location was simply stunning, with breathtaking views over the ocean. We spent hours watching seals playing in the bay, eagles soaring overhead, and were even lucky enough to spot three orcas gliding past one morningâjust narrowly missing a nearby pleasure boat! Watching the cruise ships drift by as the sun set over the bay was a truly magical experience. The house was also well-equipped with a great selection of games, which provided plenty of fun and bonding time for our whole family. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and thoughtfully appointed, offering all the creature comforts we could have hoped for. While we werenât able to enjoy the fire pit due to local safety restrictions, we fully understood and appreciated the priority placed on everyoneâs safety. Communication with our host was smooth and efficient throughout the stay, which made everything even more enjoyable. Both the older and younger members of our group had an amazing timeâthank you for a memorable stay!
We loved this place on Quadra Island. The location is excellent and the house is wonderful, glorious views and a very well appointed home. We had disappointing weather, but it did not dampen our spirits and we enjoyed the games supplied in the house. Most everything was well thought out in the kitchen, but a couple of places where there could be improvements...inadequate amount of cutlery for 6, only a few teaspoons, no salad forks and no serving spoons/forks. Also, no serving dishes/platters. Communication with the property manager was totally fine until we left. We were asked to send a message to say we had checked out. With young children this inevitably was a few minutes late. Later in the day we returned to the house after realising we had brought a pair of binoculars with us by mistake and also had left something on the beach. We were greeted by a rather hostile property manager. We were accused of checking out late and breaking a cover over a fluorescent light. In fact, we had checked out only 10 minutes after the expected time, sent a message a few minutes after that to say we had left, and had already explained that the plastic cover had spontaneously fallen from the fixture. I anticipate a new piece of perspex would cost less than $10. Both she and her partner went on a rather confrontational rant about how they did not have time to do all the cleaning and landscaping before the next guests arrived. Really poor, as we left the house in great shape
The views are stunning and the house is beautiful. We loved the open kitchen, dinning room and living room area. The many decks are a big bonus. We enjoyed our stay very much.
This beautiful property had lots of room indoors and out for our extended family of five adults and one teen. The kitchen was fully stocked and the property was very clean. The view from the deck was majestic. Be sure to take a look for the pair of bald eagles on the small island out back! We explored the many hiking trails on Quadra island and enjoyed kayaking right from the beach of this property. We highly recommend staying here and will be back!
