Located on the Kyneton side of Lauriston, Cavallo Acres Homestead is a private BnB on a few acres, set within a larger equestrian property. The homestead features four bedrooms and large open plan living with several acres of surrounding garden/lawns. Situated just 5 min drive from Kyneton, the property is perfect to either settle in and enjoy a relaxing retreat or use as a base to explore the local tourist sites, wineries and shopping/dining.
The open plan living area features large lounge, dining and kitchen. The main bathroom boasts a dual rain shower and a full-sized bathtub. The ensuite off the King bedroom includes a toilet shower and sink. The house also has a laundry with washing machine.
The four bedrooms include a King room with ensuite, two queen rooms and two single beds in a fourth room. One queen room is joined to the single beds room by an archway however a privacy screen is provided to separate the rooms when required.
For comfort all-year round, there is a split system for cooling/heating and all beds have electric blankets.
Gardens surround the front of the house while the backyard is a large open lawn area. An 8 seated outdoor setting brings the two spaces together with a gas BBQ is provided on the veranda.
We like to greet our guests on check in however self-check in is available if preferred.
Your hosts also live on the property (separate and out of sight from the homestead) and are available if required. As the property is a working farm, the main driveway is shared however we respect the privacy of our guests and keep use to a minimum when guests are on site.

Cavallo Acres Homestead is located:
- 1 km from Lauriston Reservoir which is a great place to picnic
- A few kms from the Malmsbury Reservoir
- Approximately 5 km from Piper Street for fabulous cafes, dining and shopping
- 20 min drive from Trentham falls
- 20 min drive to the surrounding Macedon Ranges for great bush walking, mountain biking or picnic at the famous Hanging Rock
- 20-30 min to historic mining tourist sites around Maldon, Chewton, Castlemaine

Perfect base for a country break

We happily returned for a second stay at Cavallo Acres and it was as perfect as the first time. The setting is so peaceful and it really helps take you out of the city ratrace and begin relaxing immediately. The property is perfectly situated to get to a number of towns in the region (5 mins to Kyneton, Malmsbury, 20 to Trentham, 25 to Daylesford, 30 to Castlemaine) you can really enjoy everything the region has to offer based from here while enjoying that country experience. The house has everything you need, and the horses are a wonderful part of the environment.

A Country Retreat

A wonderful property with everything you could need. The house is well equipped and extremely comfortable, and the setting gives a feeling of seclusion that makes you feel like you have left the normal world behind. Highly recommended and just what we needed to let the stress of a long year go. Loved meeting the horses there, and we will miss them and their carrot loving ways.

Hanging Rock concert and relaxing weekend

The property was gorgeous - well appointed, clean, and as displayed - very picturesque. Amelia our host was fantastic - gave us updates of what the concert was looking like prior to arrival (wear boots, you can't park there will be buses) which was very appreciated. And meeting the horses and the dogs was lovely. Recommend and we will be back!

Peace and quiet

If you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the place for you. Most of the time all you hear are the birds singing or horses neighing. Five of us spent 3 nights here this past weekend. The house is spacious and beds very comfortable. It is situated a few kilometres from both Kyneton and Malmsbury. Despite the huge "rain event" we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the house and area.

As the homestead is located on a small equestrian farm, in addition to staying in the homestead guests can organise with us to meet the center horses. While no riding of horses is offered, guests can get up close with the horses and have a unique and memorable experience.
