We arrived to find a large blue tarp on the roof and roofing material stacked in the driveway. Not something that was mentioned in the listing. We entered and found rotten fruit and vegetables in the fridge and some kind of bean dish with freezer burn in an uncovered bowl in the freezer. There were two washcloths in the entire house and four towels. The kitchen had one pan for cooking that had not been cleaned. The stovetop was missing all four knobs to operate the burners. The picture of the kitchen in the listing correctly shows that the kitchen has a lot of cabinet space but in fact the cabinets are mostly empty. The glasses, plates and bowls come for three to four different sets. The master shower drain was partially clogged with hair. The guest room off of the kids room had a black light as a reading light but it wasn’t plugged in. Moving the desk to reach the outlet revealed years of dust and grime. Both the front and back yards hadn’t been mowed in a while and the grill in the backyard hadn’t been cleaned (and anyway didn’t have a working propane tank). There was also no “home guide” that explained how to operate things like the TV/Roku which didn’t work the second night.
We informed the property manager, Adebola, about most of the issues and she was responsive and apologetic.
In our opinion this home is not ready to be rented. Considering the nightly rate, cleaning fee and obligatory insurance, we think this home was way overpriced.
