Poor host communication
I have been a VRBO customer for more than 15 years. This rental was the worst experience I've ever had given that I paid in advance for a 26 day stay for a work trip yet received an eviction notice from the city sheriff and received zero support whatsoever from vrbo. they are supposed to have a book with confidence guarantee, yet they have since closed my case with no resolution or refund. They also failed to even care about my safety, or offer to book alternative accommodations. Ultimately I wound up going to a hotel at my own expense.
The host failed to communicate with me on multiple occasions. The host was ultimately an LLC running a scam and their listing should not have been allowed on VRBO in the first place.
when I first got the notice, I immediately called vrbo customer service, and stayed on the line for over 90 minutes while the agent tried to identify what to do. It was very clear that they have zero protocol. vrbo never once called me proactively. They simply opened a case, which was a road to nowhere that offered zero useful information. An earlier response confirmed that a refund will be granted, however, the outcome was, they closed my case with no resolution. Needless to say, I will be escalating this to the highest levels of VRBO leadership. This is a traveler safety issue at the core and it is clear that they have more concern for the host. I will never use VRBO again.
