I was very hesitant to rent this property because it had zero reviews when I booked it. Lesson learned.
If you are sensitive to smell I would suggest not staying here. The inside of the unit is ok but has an odd smell. The outside of the unit is sad and depressing. This could easily be the greatest property on the beach but it needs a lot of TLC.
I brought my concerns directly to Robert the host who was nice to deal with and open to listening. I would value this property at $300/nite but even at that price point, I would not return.
Hollywood itself seems to have a significant homeless problem and many seem to congregate in front of this house leaving their trash on the wall or tossing it into the yard. If you are from the Northeast, I would say HW is about as sketchy as Atlantic City/Coney Island. This is not a town where you feel safe walking around alone at night, or early morning fot that matter.
To be fair, I travel for business and typically stay at Marriotts & Hiltons but since I was coming from a big Marriott resort in Marco Island, I thought I would enjoy a smaller property. Hollywood was a rude awakeing compared to Marco.
In terms of proximity to the beach - amazing. You can´t get any closer to the beach. The property has beautiful palms and a giant tiki hut. However, the yard is so full of bugs (maybe sand fleas, not sure) you´d be eaten alive if you tried to sit under the hut at nite.
I found it very difficult to write a review about this property. There are parts I could give a zero and parts I could give a 5 (proximity to the beach). I was booked for 4 nites and left after one, losing out on 3k. I ended up going to a 2 bedroom suite at the Hilton Ft Lauderdale Beach Resort
note for the next guest: I left a brand new $70 beach chair in the bedroom closet
