Welcome to your 13 acre off-grid experience on the water. You will find a main cabin which houses all of your at home amenities, a cozy yurt (not available in fall and winter), and a bunky. Each dwelling is run by solar power, with the main cabin having running and drinkable water. Enjoy the beautiful limestone waterfront, hikes through the woods, canoeing the lake, or just simply relaxing in a hammock at the waters edge.
The space:
-The main cabin has an outdoor shower, and an outhouse. The outhouse has a composting toilet (which is actually quite lovely to use!) There is also a fridge/freezer, and propane stove. The yurt has a kitchenette, and an indoor bathroom with a composting toilet. The bunky has a conventional outhouse.
-The main cabin has a loft sleeping area with a queen size bed, and a pull out couch in the living room with a very comfortable queen mattress.
-The bunky has a double bed. There are 2 twin mattresses available if needed for extra guests or children.
Guest access
If booking for two people, you will have access to the main cabin only.
PLEASE REVIEW ALL DETAILS BELOW BEFORE BOOKING:
-The Yurt is not available during the fall and winter months due to no heating/wood stove.
-There is no running water once the temperatures change to below 0 degrees celsius. This usually happens at the end of October. If you are booking a winter stay, you will be provided with large jugs of drinking and cooking water.
-Staying off-grid in the winter is not for the faint of heart, but it is extremely peaceful and relaxing.
-Everything is run by solar power. Over consumption will lead to you losing power. There is a back up generator at the main cabin which can be used to power up the batteries for the main cabin. You will not be able to have any sort of heat source plugged in, ie. toaster, coffee maker, hair dryer, curling iron/straightener. Running the generator 1-2 times per day is necessary during the fall and winter months.
-There are two compostable toilets and one conventional outhouse. There is an outdoor shower located at the main cabin.
-This cabin is in the woods on 13 acres. We have done our absolute best to ensure that your dwelling is critter free. Please ensure that you do not leave food out over night (inside and outside of the cabins), and keep all doors closed (unless you are using the screen).
-The bugs and mosquitos can get bad at certain times throughout the day depending on the season. We provide you with plenty of insect repellant (coils, sprays etc), and you will notice that the waterfront and the decks are places of reprieve.
