" On The Mystic" is a recently remodeled and furnished private home on the Mystic River. It has an open concept kitchen, living room and dining area as well as three private bedrooms each with ensuite full bath. There is a large deck with a new weber grill, comfortable couch seating and a large dining table all overlooking the Mystic River. An additional family room provides a great get away for the kids or a quiet place to get a little work done. This home is on a quiet street on Mason's Island, just minutes from downtown historic Mystic and local attractions, yet it feels like it is away from it all. Enjoy the outdoor fire pit with surrounding Adirondack chairs, two kayaks, and one paddle board along with beach floats and numerous lawn games. "On The Mystic" has been casually yet elegantly decorated with your vacation in mind. It has everything you want and nothing you don't. There is expanded cable and wireless internet as well as three smart TVs including a new 65" Sony, a Bose speaker to link with your cell phone and a pretty neat electric stove fireplace adding ambience and warmth to the living room. The driveway can accommodate several cars as well as a boat trailer. Almost everything in the house is brand new including the king size beds in both master bedrooms as well as the fully outfitted kitchen. Halfway between NYC and Boston, Mystic is known for its historic downtown with quaint shops and outdoor dinning as well as the Mystic Seaport Museum, The Mystic Aquarium and of course Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos. Within a short drive there is also scenic Stonington Village, several wine vineyards, hiking trails, Watch hill Rhode Island with its famous beaches and the Ocean House. Thats if you can tear yourself away from your backyard.

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and it was great! Next time we want to use the paddle boards and kayaks that are available :-)

Family get together

The property fit our needs very well with 5 adults staying at the property. We were able to gather together inside or outside for meals and activities; and the bedroom/bathroom areas were separate to give privacy when needed or wanted. The property had plenty of activities for us to do - kayaking, paddle boarding, outdoor games, indoor games, and a fire pit. The house had everything we needed - extra linens, kitchen ware, etc. And the best thing was the location! It was on the water, quiet, on a private road, and was close to the downtown Mystic activities. Not knowing what to expect, this property exceeded our expectations! The host has thought of everything to make this property feel like your home for your time there.

Beautiful property on Mason Island

We went for a long weekend and didn’t want to leave. Our family of 5 had a blast! We loved fishing off the dock, using the kayaks and paddle boards & the proximity to Mystic and other attractions. Looking forward to coming back and staying here again.

My name is Ronda and I have been living in Mystic for almost 30 years. My home is about 15 minutes away so I am close should you need me but not too close for your privacy which I believe you should have. This is your vacation. I grew up in Long Island and have lived in NYC for several years. Mystic is a wonderful, less congested alternative to The Hamptons and Cape Cod. There are many things to do in the area but the house provides relaxation and activities for those who just want to stay put. There is a large inflatable floating raft, a dock ladder, fishing rods, wood for the fire pit, croquet, corn hole and outdoor Jenga to name a few. Over the years I have watched Mystic bloom from a sleepy somewhat backward village to a thriving and enchanting destination with great vibes and an abundance of exceptional restaurants and shops. It has that Cape Cod feeling without the long drive.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I purchased this property in mid May 2021. I was not actually looking or even interested in purchasing a property at the time but a lunch date with a realtor friend of mine resulted in going to see it and hours later I was under contract. Knowing this home would be the perfect vacation get away I fell in love with it immediately and have accessorized and furnished it with your vacation in mind. Each purchase and decision was made as if I was going to live here myself. I believe On The Mystic has achieved a level of quality and charm which I would expect from a luxury accommodation while avoiding the Mini Mansion feel of over abundance. From the moment you approach Mason's Island you will know you are on the fringe of somewhere very special. The drive from Route 1 up to the house is gorgeous and the neighborhood is perfect for evening strolls, a morning jog or bike ride. Well known Kitchen Little ( brunch favorite on the Mystic river ) is just a two minute walk from your front door. Mason's Island is a destination unto itself and people who know it return over and over
again.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

In a nutshell, On The Mystic is a fun house to live in. At just over 2100 sq feet it feels bigger yet cozy. There always seems to be another place to go. Each bedroom occupies a different section of the house for added privacy and has its own full bathroom which is quite rare. The first floor master bedroom also has its own private entrance but is still very connected to the rest of the house. Of course being on the water with a dock is the icing on the cake not to mention the proximity to historic downtown Mystic. The back deck faces east with the morning sun and plenty of shade as the temperature rises. Retreat to the front verandah or out into the yard for all day sun. Don't miss the sunsets over the Mystic River from the back deck which are spectacular. The house is bright and cheerful throughout the day. The river view incorporates the channel to downtown Mystic so there will be an entertaining display of boats parading up and down the river. I am confidant you will thoroughly enjoy your stay and take fond memories home with you. The river is perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming.
