Luxurious apartment with mediocre management and confusing communication and process
First, this is a luxurious apartment in a luxury apartment complex. It was the perfect space for me, my husband, my brother and my sister-in-law. Both couples had their own full bathroom and walk-in closet.
The apartment complex (which isn't controlled by the host), wasn't managed as well as I expected. One of the gates to drive in was open the entire 8-night stay. I guess that's good, since trying to enter the way we were instructed by the host never worked either. Also, there was trash around the property and even a growing trash pile of cardboard boxes in the hallway that just got bigger and bigger during our stay.
The host asks guests to download both their app and another app for a digital key. That's on top of the app we used to make a reservation. So to find important info, you have to check three apps. It was too much. A few signs in the unit would have been very helpful, like a map for how to find the fitness center, labels on the fobs that gain access to the fitness center, and wifi password.
Lastly, after telling our host that we were running out of toilet paper, we were told they provide only one roll and we're on our own after that. I asked if that was true even for an 8-night stay. I got no answer. I saw no warning that I'd need to BYOTP before I arrived.
Oh, and I tried to check out as instructed, but couldn't get it to work. I texted the host to notify them that we were out but I couldn't get the checkout to work, and got no answer again.
