Welcome to Talahi's Treasure perfectly located between Historic Downtown Savannah and Tybee Island, Georgia. Talahi's Treasure is a freshly renovated brick ranch home with a large, fenced backyard and private pool located in the established residential neighborhood of Talahi Island. Enjoy being a short drive to Savannah's award-winning restaurants, historical tours, mini golf, a local produce stand and Farmer's Market, and the laid-back beaches of Tybee Island. Our home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and sleeps a maximum of nine guests. The large master king bedroom is located on the opposite end of the home from the other 3 bedrooms, providing plenty of privacy. The master bedroom has a workspace with monitor and printer available for our guests who need to get a bit of work done during their stay. The master bathroom has a large walk-in shower with rainfall showerhead and jets and offers a large connecting walk-in closet. Additional bedrooms consist of a queen bedroom with attached single-shower bathroom, a full bedroom with a twin trundle bed, and a twin bunk room. The hall bath has a tub/shower combo.
The open concept kitchen and living room area provides a dining table with seating for 6 as well as a large kitchen island with 6 bar stools. The kitchen is well stocked with serving, cooking, and baking dishware and utensils and there is ample cabinet space reserved for guest food storage. The coffee station has a Keurig, French press, and coffee grinder. The living room area has a large sectional couch as well as 4 additional upholstered chairs for casual seating. There are Roku TVs in all bedrooms, the living room, and outside under the covered patio. Please note that local cable is not provided. Guests can log in to their personal subscription services (i.e. Netflix) or the Roku Channel offers live television news from a variety of national stations and a wide variety of complimentary movies, sitcoms, children's shows, or documentaries. A full-size laundry room with bench connects the kitchen and master bedroom and is equipped with a full-size washer and dryer and plenty of pool towels for guest use.
The backyard, which is surrounded by a newly installed privacy fence, boasts a swimming pool with slide and tanning ledge, 2 lounge chairs, an outdoor sectional, 6 Adirondack chairs, side tables, and a portable Solo Stove fire pit. The swimming pool and fire pit are for use at your own risk. For guests traveling with children, please note that there are two exterior doors leading out to the backyard and both are equipped with child safety alarms that the booking party can adjust between the settings of "off", "chime", and "alarm". There is also a Weber grill available for guest use.
The front of the house offers a covered entry with a bench and driveway with space for up to six vehicles or 4 vehicles and a boat/jet ski trailer if you are towing your personal watercraft to our lovely coast (there are several public boat ramps within a few miles of the house, see note below). There is also a basketball goal in the driveway. Please note that our home uses a septic system and absolutely no vehicles or trailers can be driven into the backyard for any reason.
Linens and towels are provided: each of the three bathrooms have 4 bath towels, 4 washcloths, and 2 hand towels. Bed sheets are made of microfiber. Extra blankets are provided in each bedroom closet. Pool towels are provided. A starter supply of kitchen, laundry, and bathroom items include: liquid dish soap, dish sponge, 3 kitchen trash bags, 3 dishwasher tablets, 1 roll of paper towels, 3 laundry detergent pods, 3 dryer softener sheets, hand soaps at all sinks, 1 mini shampoo/conditioner/bar soap per bathroom. *One stack of complimentary firewood is provided per stay subject to inventory at the local hardware store.
A high-chair, pack 'n play, 6 gently used beach chairs, 2 beach blankets, and various beach toys are available for use. Board games and books are located in the tv entertainment center.
Guest access:
Our registered guests have access to the entire home, backyard, and front yard.
Other things to note:
We have a three-day minimum booking policy. Check-in time is at 4pm on the day of arrival and check-out is at 10am on the day of departure. Early arrival and late departure are not available due to the schedule of our cleaning staff.
Booking person must be at least 25 years old and must be present during entire length of stay.
No Parties allowed - Savannah has a strict Noise Ordinance in place and violations put us at risk of losing our business license.
No Smoking or Vaping inside the home.
The heating and air system of our home is controlled by a Nest Thermostat and a range of 68-75 degrees is set.
We have a strict NO PET policy.
There are two cameras on the Front Exterior of the home that are actively recording to help us ensure our guests do not exceed the guest capacity set forth by the Chatham County Fire Department.
We provide a starter pack of supplies at check-in. A specific list of items can be found in the home description above.
All linens are supplied including bedding, pillows, bath towel sets, kitchen towels, and pool towels.
Swimming pool and fire pit safety for our guests is extremely important to us. Please be sure to review our attached rental agreement. By booking a stay with us, you are acknowledging and agreeing to the rules and regulations for our home and accept applicable fees for any violations.
The home is a ranch but please note there is one step down into the master bedroom that is clearly marked with a "Watch Your Step" warning decal. All three exterior doors also have a single step up/down for entry.
Our home is maintained by professional pool care, lawn care, and pest control service companies. It is possible that one or more of these services may visit the exterior of the home during your stay.
The home is located in a residential neighborhood and is located adjacent to a neighborhood community center that includes a basketball court and swings. The road in front of the house does stay busy with cars passing and neighbors walking (often with dogs on leash). There is a Farmer's Market at the entrance to the neighborhood that operates seasonally on Saturday mornings. A 10-15 minute (~8 miles) drive west gets you to downtown Savannah and a 10-15 minute (~8 miles) drive east gets you to Tybee Island. Bringing your boat or jet skis? Turner's Creek Boat Ramp is 3 miles away or Lazaretto Creek Boat ramp is 5.8 miles away. Bogeys Mini Golf and Rita's Ice Cream are located one mile from the home. Water sport (boat, jet ski, kayak) rentals and charters are approximately a 10 minute drive from the home.
A car will be needed to enjoy the area. Parking tips for both downtown Savannah and Tybee Island will be available in our Welcome Book at check-in. Please note that there are fees to park in both downtown Savannah and Tybee Island. Alternatively, guests can Uber or Lyft to their destinations but should understand that Tybee Island is approximately 8 miles away from the home and downtown Savannah is also approximately 8 miles from the home in the opposite direction.
