Escape to Rumbling Bald Resort for the perfect combination of mountain and lake adventures. Modern Mountain at McDaniel is nestled in a wooded retreat, offering 2 bedrooms + den and 1.5 bathrooms.

Modern Mountain offers all the conveniences of home - just pack a bag (and your golf clubs) and enjoy your stay!

In addition to all of the great local attractions, you'll have access to the Rumbling Bald Resort as part of your stay. The perfect balance between comfort and tranquility!
The space
Once you walk in the front door, you are able to see both the living and dining areas with plenty of open space. The living room has seating for up to six guests with a 55" Roku TV for streaming entertainment.

The dining area is set up for four, but will easily accommodate up to six when you grab the extra chairs kept in Bedroom #1 & #2.

From the dining area, enter the fully-equipped kitchen that is ready to meet your culinary needs.

Access to the large screened-in deck is through the kitchen. It's our favorite spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or a cocktail while listening to the sounds of nature. If you're lucky, you may see a family of deer or a wild turkey while relaxing!

All bedrooms are off of the open living room. The Primary Bedroom is just past the supply closet and offers a comfortable king-size bed, 6-drawer dresser, and large walk-in closet. If traveling with a little-one, the twin-size air mattress (located in the Primary closet) can be inflated and fits at the foot of the bed.

A full bathroom is located in the Primary Bedroom. The bathroom offers a shower/tub combo. Feel free to place your belongings in the vanity &/or the cabinet. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer are provided. The owner's closet containing our personal belongings is located in the bathroom and will remain locked during your stay.

Just past the entry to the Primary Bedroom, and off of the Living Room, is the half-bath. There is ample space for your belongings in the closet or under the sink in the vanity.

Bedroom #2 is in the back corner of the home and has unbeatable wooded views. The king-size bed offers a comfortable place to rest after an adventure-filled day.

The Den offers additional sleeping area with a twin-size daybed with pull-out trundle.

If you need to get some work completed during your stay, you'll find a desk and chair located in Bedroom #2. Modern Mountain offers reliable fiber internet through Skyrunner for buffer-proof video calling.

The home interior is appointed with modern finishes while capturing a mountain-vibe.

Modern Mountain includes an unfinished basement which may be used during your stay. Have fun together using the pool table or putting greens. You'll also find the washer and dryer in the basement if you need to do a load of laundry.

Enjoy a campfire while you're here - just bring your own wood. All fires must be fully extinguished before leaving unattended. There's a red bucket near the garden hose to help with extinguishing any hot coals left behind.

Please note, we do not currently offer an outdoor grill due to black bear activity in the area. You are welcome to bring your own, but please be sure to thoroughly clean any food waste/drippings before leaving unattended overnight.

If you're headed to the beach, be sure to grab the beach chairs/toys from the garage. Please return them to/through the garage to keep sand out of the house.

Our vacation property is located outside the gated community of Rumbling Bald Resort and is accessible with a one-mile drive by car.

Your stay includes full access to all the amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort, including the private beach, three pools, spa and sauna, water sports, golf courses, restaurants, and more! Take a lake cruise, go golfing for the day, hangout at the lakefront beach, take a dip in one of the pools, or enjoy the endless activities at the wellness/recreation center and spa. Pontoon boat and stand-up-paddleboard rentals available during the Summer. Enjoy the 18-hole mini-golf course, shooting hoops on the full-sized basketball court, or playing cornhole, pickleball, and tennis.

AN INITIAL SUPPLY OF THE FOLLOWING AMENITIES:
Including, but not limited to: bed linens and bath towels, dishwasher detergent (2 loads) and dishwashing soap, new sponge, laundry detergent (2 loads), hand soap, paper towels (1 roll), toilet paper, garbage bags, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. If you don’t feel this will be adequate for your stay, you will want to stop and pick up more on your way. All properties provide fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, including coffee makers as well as some cooking utensils. Locked closets are reserved for the use of the Property Owner and are not accessible to Guests. Rearranging furniture or removing any items from the Property is prohibited.

ITEMS YOU WILL/MAY WANT TO BRING FOR YOUR STAY:
Extra folding chairs, beach towels, shampoos/ body soaps, hair dryers, basic cooking condiments, tin foil, plastic wrap, food storage containers, coffee, board games, fishing poles & tackle, floats, life preservers for toddlers/infants, golf clubs.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the fully furnished single-level home and screened patio. An unfinished basement is accessible, however is unfurnished.

Please note: the full bathroom is accessible through the Primary Bedroom.
