Frey studied and built homes everywhere before settling on his masterpiece, Casa Alfred Frey. Alfred Frey's modern desert oasis blends into South Palm Desert so well that you may miss it at first. No stone is unturned + it's walking distance to famous El Paseo where you can enjoy incredible fine dining, casual eateries, wonderful local shops, and more fun activities like some of the best art galleries in the world!
What I love most about this property is how open it is. The doors to the yard open all the way in both the main house and casita - making for a seamless indoor outdoor living experience.
The thatched roof is also newer and part of the redesign along with the quintessential loggia style. You are in a historic property that has been brought fully into the post modern time with automatic light switches when you enter a room, even the bidet opens automatically, and more "smart" surprises.
You'll appreciate how you can see almost everything going on in the house while in the kitchen or tuck yourself away by closing the doors and windows.

Quiet home away from busy streets. Our street is tucked away and has through access to both sides of El Paseo. Our neighborhood is also right by Shadow Hills golf course although far enough way to not get any flying golf balls. However you can walk to the golf course in ten minutes!
There’s something for everyone at our location, and a lot!
We are only a few mins from Ironwood Park and the Living Desert Zoo!
We are only 10 minutes from Desert Crossing with Target, Marshall’s, Aldi’s Grocery Store; and of course just a few street off famous El Paseo
We are also 5 minutes from Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and much more!
For kids. Rancho Mirage Park has a fire truck and live theatre throughout the year for free, Civic Center Park has beautiful lakes and ducks; and Magnesia Falls park is also just 5, 8 minutes away and everyone loves their turf
The River is also a very popular hangout with multiple rivers and bigger restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, P.f. Chang’s, and many local eateries like sushi, Yardhouse, Chocolate Factory, popular movie theatre, hat store, cigar lounge, Dave & Busters will be here in the coming months; and much more!
In addition, we are centrally located to hundreds of golf courses! There are golf courses dotting the scenery almost everywhere you look in Palm Desert. We can provide recommendations of where to go for all the popular sports including but not limited to Pickle Ball, PGA courses, professional tennis courts, night time golf, and much more!

We also have a neighborhood guide we can provide you once you book with activities you likely don’t know about yet because we’re growing, the desert has SO much more this past year for tourists than the immense it already had.
*Getting Around:
There's ample parking in the private roundabout driveway. Our driveway is in front of the house and perched off the main street. It can fit five cars easily. We also have a three car garage with two spots available. Additionally, there's plenty of street parking right next to the driveway.
This is a wonderful residential street off the beaten path enough to not hear any distractions but close enough to walk to El Paseo. This is under a mile with very little slope if any to walk up, upon your return. You can also bike easily and it's very bicycle friendly as well as car friendly. Parking isn't an issue anywhere around here nor is traffic unless something unusual is going on which is rare.
Our property is excellent for getting around - however you decide whether it's bike, car, walk, or something else! We also have a golf cart for your use!
**This estate is on one acre of land which is = to 4 large houses or 8 typical 3 bed 2 bath lots. You are renting this whole property for exclusive access to both the main house and the guest house.**
As this estate is sprawling you have a casita and main house separated by much space and the pool. *This listing is for 5,000 square feet of living space.
This booking is for the discerning and those who appreciate Palm Springs history. This property is a historic property and isn't but should be registered as such (in the future we may).
This listing is for the main house which is aprox. 3,800 of living space. This includes an additional guesthome that is another aprox. 1,200 square feet and perfect for having your family or extended relatives come and enjoy the posh nature of this estate. Also please note that a lease is required for all guests which we will send you after you book. This is to protect us all from liability.
