Or drive 25 minutes to northstar and get a mountain biking lift ticket. Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) and many other trails abound for the adventurous. Roadies will find great climbs right from the front door around Lake or any of the nearby passes (Mt. Rose).Personally, I ride right out the front door, going 2 miles to the Incline Flume trail or 3 miles to the Tahoe Rim Trail. All of the mountain bike trails can be hiked as well and offer INSANELY BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!
