Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the house. We were traveling with a toddler and appreciated having the space to spread out and relax. We were disappointed in a couple areas. First, the level of cleanliness was not what I would expect to see, particularly given the significant cleaning charge. When we got to the house, the kitchen in particular needed attention (drawers and cabinets sticky, food residue/mold left on some plates). We immediately went to Target to pick up cleaning supplies so we could wipe down the kitchen. That is not what I would expect to find after a place was professionally cleaned. The bathrooms and bedrooms were fine, though, in terms of cleanliness. My second disappointment was the lack of maintenance around some basic things, like light bulbs. A number of light fixtures throughout the house had burned out bulbs. The front room, in particular, was so bad that 3 out of the 4 bulbs were out. I understand that lightbulbs occasionally go out but there is no way half a dozen or so bulbs in a house suddenly burned out without warning. Just seems like some lackadaisical upkeep. I notified the landlord to see if he had any spare bulbs on site but he didn’t. He told me he would reimburse us for any replacements we purchased, which he did. But it shouldn’t be something that paying guests be expected to deal with. So, overall, no regrets about staying there but I need the game needs to be upped.
