Blakes is set just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Minehead with its shops, bars, restaurants and beach. The West Somerset Railway sets off from here so why not spend a day riding the steam train and exploring the Somerset countryside? From the doorstep, North Hill is a great walk for the more energetic! There are walks from every direction all over Exmoor, you can spend hours exploring. For days out in the car head along the coast to Lynton and Lynmouth, take the clifftop railway and enjoy the views. In the other direction you have the harbour town of Watchet with its small local shops. A fascinating afternoon can be spent exploring Dunster, a historic town with a wonderful castle. Beach ½ mile. Pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
