Llangernyw is a small, friendly village in Conwy County, North Wales. It sits in the beautiful Elwy Valley close to where the River Cledwen joins the River Elwy. It is mostly renowned for the 4500-5000 year old yew tree, one of the three oldest living things on the planet, which grows in the grounds of St Digains Church in the centre of the village
Both the Snowdonia National Park and the Colwyn Bay coast are just a 20 minute drive away, making Cartref an excellent touring base, ideal for attractions such as Surf Snowdonia, The Welsh Mountain Zoo and ZipWorld or simply to enjoy the tremendous variety of scenery and open beaches North Wales has to offer.

Llanfair village is just a 7 minute drive away from the cottage, with the Black Lion Pub/Restaurant with its ample menu, and Olivia’s cafe by the river, serving everything from a hearty breakfast to delicious meals from the specials board. The small market town of Llanwrst where you will find a selection of pubs, restaurants and shops is a 10 minute drive away, and if you don`t fancy the drive there is a bus stop across the road from the cottage.
Abergele, Betws y Coed and beautiful Snowdonia are all within a twenty minutes drive away.
