The McKeever Schoolhouse

This historic 3-bedroom home is a haven for snowmobilers, hikers and those with a deep appreciation for the beauty of the woods.
The McKeever Schoolhouse was built in 1924 for families living in the McKeever hamlet. Today, it is an ideal location to get away, take a breath and enjoy the Dacks. The property is part of the Black River Wild Forest and in walking distance to the trailheads for Remsen Falls, Bear Lake and Big Woodhull Lake. The center of Old Forge is only a short ~10-minute drive.

Queen sized beds with memory foam mattresses are in each of the three bedrooms. A queen-sized pullout bed is in the leather sofa that compliments the other deluxe furnishings in the open first floor that includes a large dining room set and wood burning stove.
A large mudroom keeps shoes and equipment neatly stored and houses a front-loading washer and dryer.
The well-equipped kitchen includes all the standard small & large appliances along with extras including an espresso maker, crockpot and electric popcorn popper. Extensive cookware and kitchenware plus glasses for your favorite beer, wine or bubbly. The Weber charcoal grill is perfect for outdoor cooking.
The house includes Internet, a smart TV, and a loaded game closet.
Did we mention the view of the stars at night from the outdoor deck and the ground level firepit? Pure magic!
The detached garage and large, off-road parking space can accommodate multiple vehicles including trailers.

Pet Policy - We love our four-legged friends and will consider well behaved pets with some restrictions and an additional amount in the security deposit.
