"Luna Sea" Crazy for the Ocean!" managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate may be just the elegant yet beachy ocean escape your family is looking for! "Luna Sea" has IT ALL! Less than ONE block from the Atlantic shores and across the street from the TIKI Bar, the get-a-way boasts expansive views from multiple decks and interior rooms. A screened porch and triple sliders sits just off the kitchen along with a private fenced backyard complete with an outdoor kitchen, television, and dining area!

Neighborhood description

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. "Luna Sea" rests less than one block away from the Atlantic (beach accesses @ Texas AND South Carolina Ave.), and four rows in from the Intracoastal Waterway. The property is set less than a mile from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities, and dining. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday night, Movies at the lake each Sunday night, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning.

Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the awing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

The space

Built in 2019, this expansive 4 bedroom and 6 bath home at over 3,000+ square feet is ALL about privacy, comfort, and space. As you walk into the foyer from either the garage or main entrance a little bit of Italy and a lot of bit of Beach welcomes you! Off the main stairway sits bedroom #1 (with TWO QUEEN beds) and full bathroom #1.

Take the stairs (or private 3-stop elevator) up to the second floor where your expansive open living blueprint awaits. Your modern gourmet kitchen complete with stainless appliances, large kitchen island with chrome sink, and high-end upgrades will make everyone feel like Thomas Keller or Gordon Ramsay when behind the wheel! Looking over the kitchen island onto the main family room, there isn't a "bad" seat in this house! The loving owners have thrown an array of couches, chaise lounges, and chairs to suit your mood albeit salty, sandy, or sunny!

A few of the amenities provided by your Owners include courtesy Eco Amenities travel size organic soap/shampoo/lotions and large Aussie shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each bath as well. Also, a roll of TP in each bathroom, 1 roll of PT in the kitchen, 2 garbage bags per garbage, laundry pods, dishwasher pods, dryer sheets, hand soap, dish soap, a sponge, Cafe' Bustelo, Tazo Tea, and pure cane sugar in each kitchen. Additional items are likely on sight as well!

On the south side of the room rests a dining table for six with partial Atlantic views in the backdrop and your three-door slider which opens into a screened porch creating a remarkable indoor/outdoor entertaining space! Just off the kitchen sits bedroom #2 (with ONE QUEEN bed), and full bathroom #2.

Up the stairway or hop back into the elevator and up to the top floor where a separate communal area comprised of a small dining table, couch, television, and half bath (bathroom #4) reside! On the East side of the home sits bedroom #3 (with ONE QUEEN bed) and its own full ensuite bath (bathroom #5). Across the hall stands the Master bedroom (with ONE KING bed), its own full ensuite bath (bathroom #6). What truly makes the Master remarkable, is its oversized private balcony with partial Atlantic views and invigorating salty Eastward breezes.

Getting around

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all! After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

Guest access

The HOME: Guests have full access to the private home and respective grounds.

The YARD: Guests have full access to the private fenced backyard, patio, and outdoor shower. Guests MUST fully enjoy (and clean!) the homes outdoor kitchen after each use.

PARKING: Each guest will have access to a maximum of four (4) vehicles between the garage and driveway. Any additional community parking spaces would have metered/paid availability on a first come first serve basis and are located in downtown CB.

•Closest BEACH access: Alabama Public Beach Access (Alabama Ave).

Interaction with guests

I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)

Other details to note

•Linens (sheets, bath towels, beach towels, wash cloths, floor towels, pillowcases, etc.) along with pillows and a summer comforter ARE included in your suite rental! Prior to departure, please assist our linen team by beginning a load before hitting to road!

•Salt Water Real Estate has partnered with the absolute best vendors our Island has to offer to help ensure guests can spend more time enjoying themselves and less time researching! Our partners include the Tony Silvagni Surf School for professional surf lessons, bicycle, umbrella, and chair rentals, Salty Dog Yoga, Squared Away Cleaning and Maintenance, and Beachside Express Linens. Our partners support guests of Salt Water Real Estate with the highest caliber of local services for extremely competitive and oft discounted pricing. They all contribute to the “Salt Water” experience and we <3 them for it!

•ALL rooms are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways.

• SWRE contractual quiet hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may allow more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all guests, locals, and neighbors alike have an enjoyable experience.

•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!

•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.

Beautiful home, ideal location, exemplary communication
The home was beautiful. We stayed the first night and thought we were supposed to bring sheets (thought maybe we read listing wrong). On Tuesday, the property manager, Dale, called to say that Beachside Linens realized we should have been provided linens. Dale owned the mistake, praised his partner company for making the discovery, and made sure we were credited for the sheets we paid for plus a bit extra. Mistakes happen, but Dale ensured we were taken care of. Thank you to Beachside Linens for catching this! Overall, the property is pristine, well stocked and very clean. Literally steps from the ocean, and great location. I will be a customer for life!
