Villa San Rafael, a brand-new minimal 3-bedroom villa with modern living, and expansive outdoor space. Enjoy this location where the mountains meet the vast Pacific Ocean, and the relaxing breeze. The incredible jungle, and unique mountain is compared to islands such as Hawaii and other world-famous natural meccas. The villa is located off the beaten track and is backed by a great growth forest with just a few minutes' drive to the warm waterfalls of San Cataratas de San Gabriel, and more.
Built to be thermally cooling, Villa San Rafael shows off fresh Pacific breezes throughout the entire home, making it an comfortable environment without the need of any air conditioning. Using up the outdoors with the grill and dining area is common due to the pleasant weather of San Rafael when you don’t want to try out the authentic Costa Rican restaurants and want to use the local produce to make plantains and Chilean seabass.

The newly modern architectural design of Villa San Rafael offers functionality and privacy, and the solid concrete walls do a wonderful job of keeping the elements outdoors where they belong. Large glass windows are found in every room of the villa, offering guests views of the jungle forest and its inhabitants as well as jaw-dropping mountain and ocean views, and we recommend keeping the windows open while occupying Villa San Rafael!

The kitchen with its array of premium appliances, has a full-size breakfast bar, and is open to the dining and living areas making it wonderful for entertainment. The dining area seats 6 with up to 2 people at the island.
The three smartly spaced-out bedrooms consist of one master bedroom with a queen bed, large closet as well as jungle views.

The second and third bedroom is made up of one queen bed, with plenty of closet space with about the same square footage. A shared bathroom is located closest to the master.
Some extra perks Villa San Rafael offers guests that make it even more unique include an outdoor amenities such as the hammock, outdoor dining, and kitchenette/grilling area. Smart TV offering self-login access to apps for streaming. To top it off, there are fruit trees and plants scattered throughout the property for anyone who wishes to forage for some ripe pineapple or bananas that might be present (many animals take advantage of this so its first come first serve and is season dependent)
You will find multiple stops in the town San Isidro de El General such as Montegeneral just 15 min away, and cafes at almost every curve of the mountain. One of the other great features outdoor activities common in Costa Rica such as dirt biking and ATV’s for their own roadways that can get to the beaches such as Dominical and Uvita within 35min. Paragliding, parasailing, ziplining, scuba-diving and more are all offered within the commute if Villa San Rafael to the beaches. The rural area of San Rafael offers the privacy and relaxing side of Costa Rica where the experience of both the simple and adventurous sides of the island.

You will need a vehicle to stay at this property to be able to get around. Rear wheel drive vehicles will not work due to a short yet steep gravel hill, so 4x4 car is required. Having said that, we recommend a 4x4 vehicle to access the points of interest throughout this beautiful region. Local car agency rentals are recommend.

Similar public transportation will be offered for activities such as the beach, supermarket, excursions while at your stay in San Rafael if rentals are not an interest with additional fees *

On The Flipside Management’s Concierge and Vacation Planner team will contact you after you have made your reservation. We will assist with making any necessary transportation arrangements from Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose (SJO), or one of the local regional airports. Palmar Sur is closest (~30 minutes) and has one flight per day in/out of San Jose, while San Rafael is approximately 3hrs from San Jose and has multiple flights per day on either Sansa Airlines or private charters.

Guests will meet with an On The Flipside Property Management representative at check-in and at check-out. On The Flipside Property Management will also be available from 8 am - 8 pm via Whats App group chat.

Villa San Rafael is located on a breezy hilltop Perez Zeledon. Guests about 10 minutes from local grocery stores and restaurants. Guests are 35 minutes from two amazing beaches: Dominical and Uvita, and further for Quepos.
We are available to assist you in guided tours and getting acquainted with the city. Attractions and help you with car rentals, scooters, ATV rentals, Surfing lesson and much more. We can also pick you up from the airport for a reasonable fee.
