We recently purchased this property to live in during the school year, while our son attends Sussex School here in Montana. We were particularly drawn to Missoula’s historical and desirable centrally situated University District. Old, giant trees and a mix of mansion like homes and small bungalows offer a storybook setting. Students, professors and long-time residents make this neighborhood a melting pot and known for being quiet, safe, and family friendly. Right around the corner is the fun filled Bonner Park with tennis and basketball courts, a dug-out, a concert stage, a playground, a water deck, and plenty of grassy space. In the summers, guests will enjoy lovely musical performances in this park every week! Just blocks away is the University of Montana and Mount Sentinel’s hiking trailhead. Heading in the other direction there's the popular hip-strip and river trail and just across the bridge is downtown Missoula with its plethora or restaurants, bars, breweries, coffee houses, music venues, playhouses, boutiques, open air markets, festivals and more. Most everything is within walking and biking distances!
Very bike friendly streets and bike paths along the river make this area ideal for those who prefer biking as their mode of transportation and recreation. This home is close to free public transit. Also its proximity to a local market, eatery, bakery and parks throughout safe neighborhoods make walking an option as well.
Whether it’s a football game or a concert, living in this neighborhood puts you right in the center of it all. Old, giant trees and big beautiful homes offer a storybook setting. Students, professors and long-time residents make this neighborhood the melting pot of the community.
Missoula offers a unique "nature meets culture" feel and we've come to love it for its easy-going outdoorsy life with all the creature comforts of a hip University metropolitan city.
