Montauk meets Scandinavia in this light-filled and welcoming year-round getaway. An artfully designed and decorated open-plan layout (all high-end furnishings, amenities, cook's kitchen, wood stove) leads through huge sliding doors to beautifully landscaped, fully fenced outdoor spaces with arguably the best outdoor shower in Montauk. All just a few blocks to Long Island Sound (including a cute beach), and everything the Harbor area has to offer.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
** This very private 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom 950 sq-ft “apartment” is the main living space of a renovated ranch house. The owner is in an adjacent space with its own private entrance and yard behind a fence, you will have as little or as much interaction as you wish. Renters have exclusive use of the front entry, parking for 2 cars, fenced front and side yards (Weber Gas Grill, dining table, seating, lounges, firepit with 4 adirondack chairs). Beach chairs and beach towels provided.

4 people maximum including guests. (Unauthorized overnight guests will be charged $300/night). Easy going, quiet, respectful, mature renters. All renters other than a family over 27 please. This is the owner's year-round residence and is not child-proofed. It may not be suitable for people with younger (rambunctious) children. One low-shedding, small to medium, non-destructive or excessively noisy dog will be considered. Please ask. No cats please.

LOCATION:
With our commercial (and sport) fishing fleets coming and going, and awesome restaurants (fancy and funky), bars, live music, bike rentals, and shops selling everything from bagels to liquor to the freshest seafood and gourmet foods, (all within walking distance) you can always eat well and have a blast. You have access to our neighborhood association private bulkhead on the Sound. (It used to be an actual beach but has succumbed to rising waters.) Bring beach chairs (provided), a picnic dinner or glass of wine and watch the sunset over the water. Or climb the steps down and take a dip. Mermaid Beach is about a 10-minute walk, or drive and park for free. It's free for anyone to use, and not as crazy as town. Montauk Village and Ditch Plains Beach are each a 6-minute drive, or an easy bike.
NOTE: the house is located on a main road and there are cars going by. Not honking or sirens etc like NYC but some traffic noise. The neighborhood and neighbors are generally very quiet as this is a "local" residential area.

Perfect Montauk Stay!

This quaint house was perfect for my family during our trip to Montauk for a wedding! Loved that we could use the wood stove (especially needed on a windy, cool September evening). The house is walkable to restaurants nearby. Short drive to the town of Montauk. Homeowner was great with thorough information and gave great recommendations. Definitely recommend!

Beach getaway

My family celebrated my father's 75th at Jill's lovely home and we couldn't have asked for anything better. The space is well appointed and close to everything you could want. We enjoyed the comforts of home whilst having beaches, restaurants and activities at our fingertips. Highly recommend the outdoor shower!

Jill is a wonderful host and was very quick to respond to any needs we had. The house is very clean and well decorated. The home had everything we needed (and more)! Will definitely be back again soon.

I'm lucky to have lived in beautiful Montauk for almost 30 years. I was drawn here by surfing way back when almost no women surfed here (stone age times!) and continue to be a passionate surfer, runner, dog owner - and mom. (I raised my 2 fabulous kids here). I love everything the area has to offer and am always happy to share my opinions (too many opinions?) and local knowledge with my renters. Note: while this is a new-ish listing, I rented the house I just sold for years and made so many friends. Great experiences overall. I look forward to meeting you.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I love the comfortable, inviting Swedish aesthetic with the modern wood stove, comfortable furniture and big sliding doors opening to the private patio and yard. The outdoor shower with on demand hot water is arguably the best in Montauk. And my kitchen reflects my love of cooking. You won't find skimpily supplied cookware.
