On either side of the old harbour, two award-winning beaches with golden sand are teeming with activity. A interesting contrast to life on the beach, where the most recent episode of Dad's Army was recorded, Bridlington's shops, sights, restaurants, and historic "Old Town" can be found there. The charming towns and landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, the nearby resorts of Filey, Scarborough, and Whitby, and the breathtaking historic coastline are all further away. The RSPB bird sanctuary in Bempton, Sewerby Hall, Danes Dyke, and Flamborough Head with its cliffs and caves are just a few of the attractions in the vicinity.
