Perfect little cabin!

Shower was hot and much needed after hiking all day. The wifi worked perfect. Cell service is limited but what you would expect given the remote location. Overall, great place.

Aleska was absolutely perfect. We will be returning next year for sure. Check in was a breeze and everything went very smooth. Wish we could have stayed longer.

December 2020 Stay

Overall, we had an amazing experience staying in the cabin. The view was beautiful and the fireplace was cozy. We went to a magic show downtown Gatlinburg and we drove to Asheville North Carolina for skiing. The cabin was in a perfect location for various activities and we will definitely stay again.

Reviewer Comments: The Alexa cabin was perfect- so quiet and serene- the carpenter bees were a bit annoying but they don’t sting so no worries there- the view was spectacular- the driveway was a little challenging because it’s hard to turn around but all in all we were very happy!

It’s about 30 mins from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Very close to Wears Valley-which is BEAUTIFUL! Only con is no WI-FI and you need to back up the driveway.

The view isn’t what the website shows. Trees are very overgrown. The driveway is terrible. The worst part was sleeping situation. Downstairs was so cold and mattress was thin and extremely firm. No curtains or blinds on any windows throughout cabin. Upstairs bedroom is in a wide open loft. Zero privacy. Mattress was uncomfortable and it was too hot to sleep upstairs. We didn’t get much sleep the entire weekend due to sleeping arrangements. Will not stay here again. Only positive is its proximity to Pigeon Forge and Townsend without all the traffic.

The house was Ok! I leaned on the back rail of the porch to get service for my phone and the rails weren't put on properly and I fell back and hit my head on the ground and bob wire was on it as well and I have very bad cuts on my arm where the wire wrapped around it and it's the only thang that stopped me from going down the mountain that the house was built into...I have pictures and sent the pics to the house manager and have not gotten a call for a sorry or how are u doing now !! I am writing this to u so it will not happen to a child ...thank God it was not one of the 3 of my children!!!

43rd Anniversary in the Mountains

Reviewer Comments: We return to the mountains every October to celebrate our anniversary. This year the fall colors were spectacular. We enjoy the Wears Valley fall festival every year. The crafts were great, the food trucks offered many choices and the live music was awesome. Our days in the Smokeys are spent hiking, having dinner in or out and then relaxing on the porch and enjoying the view. This was our first time staying in the Aleska cabin. The driveway was a challenge because we have a large truck and were unable to turn around in the driveway requiring us to back in which was tricky due to the curvy road conditions. The cabin was beautiful, the view was outstanding. We would recommend this cabin to younger people. The stairs either did not have a handrail or the handrail was placed in a very low position. The lower level sofa was very comfortable but the main level sofa needs to be replaced.

Great intimate cabin, secluded location

We really enjoyed our stay here. We just had two people stay here, but we could see coming with our two kids and having plenty of room. We loved the views, it felt very secluded, we couldn’t see any other cabins from our cabin. We really love the hot tub, and the downstairs area. We love the fireplace, but when we put it on, the heat rose to the top loft, so we ended up sleeping downstairs where it wasn’t too hot. The only issue I would say is that there is no service or Wi-Fi, so if you are planning to go to town and want to plan out your day, I would do that before you get to the cabins. Also the driveway is pretty bad. It’s very narrow and you have to reverse all the way out onto it steep hill, so it’s pretty difficult to turn when you’re reversing onto the road without hitting a tree. At least the end of the road should be widened. There were kitchen supplies, but the pans were so scratched up that we didn’t feel comfortable using them. You might want to bring your own. Otherwise we love the cabin love the views, love the location. We would come back here again

Comfy, Cozy, Secluded, and Connection to Family

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The experience was excellent at Aleska. One thing people might be deterred from is No Wifi or cell connection. However, this place has tons of books, games, movies, foosball, fire-it, and a hot tub to relax in. It was good to disconnect from everything and connect as a family. GSMNP is right down the road, and very good hikes are just a short distance away. The views were gorgeous this early spring. I would give everything a 5 star, but the only two things that need to be mentioned are that it may be time to clean under things, and the loft needs a light in the lamp, a light in the nook, and one bulb in the above fixture. It was pretty dark in the loft area without lighting. Those are just minor details; the rest was fabulous, and those things did not keep us from enjoying ourselves. It's a great place, a great location if you like to be away fromr the tourists, great hikes and scenery nearby, and don't be scared of the driveway like others have stated. If you choose a cabin in Wears Valley that is up a hill, the drive will always be with hills and curves. Many driveways are very tricky to handle; this driveway, although it is best to back in, is wide and long and puts you away from the road.

Maybe for younger crowd

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin has low lighting problems. My wife and I both missed a step on the stairway and tumbled into the wall. It had no anti slip tape and it blended in with all the wood. Tiny toilets, maybe for kids. Main bedroom is on balcony where you hit your head on roof beams. Driveway is extremely narrow and can barely turn around. We are 70 and wouldn’t rent this again. Sorry.

The hot tub was amazing, but would be more comfortable in it if the porch was screened in i was afraida bear would come visit. There was a few things that need to be taken care of....1-the kitchen sink leaked and the kids luggage got soaked on the bottom floor from the leaking sink. We didn't notice until a couple of days before we left.2-we couldn't use the jacuzzi because every time we turned it on black stuff came out of the jets, no matter how long it run thethe jets the next time we turned it on it done the same thing, it was gross. 3- please fix a turn around! It is very dangerous backing into the main road.

Great view at Aleska

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely time at this cabin in the mountains. It is a bit of a hike, but we were happy to be near Great Smokey Mountain National Park while avoiding the traffic and commercialism of Gatlinburg. The double bed upstairs and then double bunks in the basement worked great for our large family. There is even a Mountain View from bed! The kids loved the arcade machine and all the DVDS. We had a great time in the hot tub but one of the buttons wasn’t functioning and the jets wouldn’t turn off. It was really nice to have a bathroom on every level and a kitchen. We would have appreciated blinds or curtains on the smaller windows to block out light for getting little ones to bed and helping them sleep later.
