The home is situated in the small vacation town of Beech Mountain, NC. Its remote location and small-town charm offer a wonderful ambiance and a place to relax and refresh. The serene setting and mesmerizing natural surroundings provide plenty of attractions and places of interest for you to visit.

Both Beech Mountain & Banner Elk offer skiing/snowboarding, snow tubing, eco-tourism, zip-lining, mountain biking, off-road ATVs, rafting, fly fishing, hiking, golf, fine dining, and shopping all at your fingertips.

Although the Town of Beech Mountain does a great job clearing snow off of the main roads quickly in the winter months it is highly recommended to have 4WD or AWD to access Beech Mountain. During winter months we highly recommend bringing snow chains to assist.

Smells like mold

This is an older property and has some water issues. The smell of mold is very strong (worse in the basement). There is a slight smell in the master bathroom so there has probably been a leak in there as well. All of the tubs and tile have been painted and the paint is flaking off. The shower in the master bedroom is less than 3ft square making it difficult to take a shower. The pictures are deceiving. The upstairs is not bright and airy in the winter. It is very dark. The overhead light in the kitchen is also very dim. As mentioned in the description, the stairs and very narrow and very steep. It feels like you are climbing a ladder. There is a safety gate at the top of the basement stairs but no way to secure it. The bunk bed in the basement is very rickety. I wouldn't let anyone sleep in the top. There are also a few electrical outlets that are loose and a fire hazard. They all need to be inspected by a licensed electrician. I let the property manger know so hopefully that will be addressed.

Pleased

There were some hiccups with my first time using the sight. Never receive email about checking in and had to hold on phone for 30 minutes. Finally able to get checked in about 5pm. Then fireplace didn’t work and sink stopped up and put in a maintenance request and the nicest lady came to fix everything. She was a pleasure. Fireplace not fixed but made sure we were okay. Have decided will will use again.
