The Neighborhood:
CHARMING, WALKABLE, COZY
Noted on the National Register of Historic Places, the Dilworth neighborhood is centuries old and bursting with antique charm. Dilworth’s historic, tree-lined streets are home to a combination of bungalows and modern luxury apartments, where neighboring friends and families gather together for block parties and holiday festivities. Wine bars, coffee shops and eateries galore are sprinkled generously between these homes, making for one of Charlotte’s most walkable — and most visited — neighborhoods.
DILWORTH BY MORNING
Begin your day with coffee and scratch-made biscuits (or any of the other fresh pastries or breakfast sandwiches made in-house) at Sunflour Baking Companyon East Blvd. Enjoy your morning meal on the patio where you can wave to dozens of friendly neighbors you’ll inevitably see walking past with babies in strollers or dogs on leashes.
Wander around Dilworth’s ample shops and boutiques to find gifts for yourself or for loved ones. You can find stationery and gifts at Paper Skyscraper or shop apparel, accessories and jewelry at locally owned spots like Vestique and Revolution Clothiers & Co.
DILWORTH BY AFTERNOON
Sneak a peek at all the photos of Luke Kuechly on the walls before scarfing down your lunch at Thai Taste, a restaurant which happens to be one of the former Carolina Panthers linebacker’s favorite spots to eat in the city. Indulge your own athletic side by walking, running or playing at Freedom Park, a 98-acre area of green space in Dilworth where you’ll find a lake, baseball fields, batting cages, tennis courts, soccer fields, volleyball courts and a basketball court.
DILWORTH BY NIGHT
Start your evening with a glass of wine and a cheese and charcuterie board at Dilworth Tasting Room. Sip your vino under twinkling string lights on the patio, next to the tranquil sounds of the koi pond. Follow that with dinner at 300 East, a family-owned restaurant that has been serving the Charlotte community for more than 30 years. End your evening with a drink or two at Bakersfield, a bustling modern spot for Mexi-Cali inspired cocktails. Did someone say margaritas?
