Climbed over the mild hillsides of the province of Chania between the picturesque settlements of the Cretan countryside, this newly-built villa transcribes the architectural vocabulary of the local architectural tradition into terms of a modern home, lending in the natural environment its geometric features, vital functional habits and aesthetic options that renew the pattern of repetition of the typical choices of a brilliant scenography presentation to a creative synthesis process. Its interior has been designed upon the same single axis and has been based on contemporary design in conversation with current architectural brainstorming and design practices.
Villa Philokalia which overlooks the Cretan sea and the rough mountains, is distributed in two levels: the two bedrooms with their bathrooms are in the first level, while the the kitchen, the livingroom and a bathroom are in a second level. The villa can accomodate up to 5 individuals. The master bedroom has a double king size bed, a sofa-bed, a bathroom and climate control. The second bedroom has a double bed which can convert to twin beds.

Location
Through the villa, everyone is able to enjoy breathtaking views of the cretan sea. There is a private parking for your car. The Beautiful beach of Falasarna and Balos are about 10 minutes away. The outside of the villa has large terraces with a BBQ area and plenty of sunloungers and comfy seating. The sound system is wired throughout the entire house, inside, outside and even in the swimming pool. Wireless internet connection is also in place.

There are many unspoilt beaches within easy reach and in the nearby town of Kissamos, there are numerous shops, cafes and tavernas. Just a short ten minute walk from the villas will take you to the crystal clear waters of Viglia beach, where you can swim and be at one with nature.
The Port of Kissamos is a stone’s throw away from the villa and from here, you can take a boat ride to the pirate island of Gramvousa and the world famous Balos Lagoon.
The excellent location is close to many of the highlights of western Crete. Villa Philokalia is ten minutes drive away from the impressive golden sands of Falasarna beach (voted one of the top in Europe) with its unspoilt turquoise waters and an interesting archaeological site showing the Minoan and afterwards Roman ancient port and city.
Around fifty minutes drive south is the beautiful exotic beach of Elafonissi where one can get lost exploring the island of Elafonissi (Deer Island) which is unique for the cedar sand dunes and unspoilt natural habitat.
Villa Philokalia guests will also have the opportunity to walk the famous Gorge of Samaria which at 17 kilometers long, is granted as the longest in Europe.
