The Space:
Black River Cottage is located on the southern bank of Black River, halfway between Milford and the Black River Cheese Factory. Marvel at your private 150+ acres of maintained forest. Arrive and follow the 1km long private drive to the waterfront cottage.
Guests love the complimentary canoe and getting cozy in front of the wood-burning fireplace when the weather turns chilly. A variety of nature trails exist throughout the forest for guests to enjoy. One of these trails passes near a Bald Eagle platform that was built at the top of a 70 foot white pine tree and which continues to hopefully await tenants. A nature lover's paradise!
Located only 20-25 minutes away from Sandbanks Provincial Park and 15 minutes from the Waupoos Marina. This area is a well-known haven for a number of local wineries such as Lighthall, Long Dog, Exultet and Half Moon Bay.
The upper level has 1 bedroom with Queen bed with a memory foam mattress with a 2-piece bathroom. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level - one with 1 Double bed and the other with 2 Twin beds. There is a 4-piece washroom on the main floor. Linens are supplied. The Cottage has central air conditioning and the added feature of an air filtration system, ideal for allergy sufferers.
The kitchen is finished with pine cupboards, for the cottage feel. The Great Room features spectacular views of the river through 2 sliding doors flanking the central stone wood burning fireplace. There is also a small library featuring a selection of naturalist books. Plan to unplug and unwind.
Outside the Cottage there is a screened in dining area, wooden patio facing the river complete with a gas BBQ as well as a dock suitable for launching canoes and kayaks.
PLEASE NOTE: The property is at the end of a long unpaved road, use a vehicle with good suspension and clearance. You will need to drive slowly down this lane to protect your vehicle and there`s a steep decline that winds through the woods. Please arrive before dark.
The Neighborhood:
Prince Edward County is a very special place. You may find yourself here one weekend, falling in love and moving permanently, a large number of people have. Affectionately known as "The County" the area is comprised of small villages and hamlets scattered amongst farm fields and quaint shops. Located in Lake Ontario you will fall in love with the people, the food, nature, and art. The area hosts 3 provincial parks and over 800km of shoreline.

A rental agreement with Places in PEC is required to be signed, it is an e-signature document that will be sent though the booking channel, please check your spam folder. Once returned your booking is 100% confirmed. This is requires as we are a member of the Travel Industry Council of Ontario and we do not own the property we manage it on behalf of the owners.
