This place has the best location and being on the top floor was the only way to go about staying at the see gypsy. Our neighbors were kind of noisy, which was kind of frustrating. I feel like the unit could probably use a little bit updating, but it was clean and the easiest check-in weâve had of any of the units and we stay here at least one to two times annually.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Best part was being right on the beach, it was amazing to be able to sit and look at the gorgeous ocean from the comfort of our room. As a family of 6, this condo offered plenty of space for all of us.
Everything at the property was as listed and as expected. We enjoyed being right there on the beach all the time. Amazing, uninterrupted sunset views right from the condo.
Overall cleanliness of the property was good. The couch lacked it though, it could be cleaner. I believe especially in these pandemic times when everyone wants to be extremely careful, maintaining cleanliness and hygienic conditions everywhere matters a lot.
Overall we had a great stay. Thank you!
We stayed at the Sea Gypsy for two nights with our two kids. Overall, there were many good aspects to this place: location, proximity to beach, great viewsâŠwe didnât need much space so this looked like a great base of operations for us. It was close to being a great stay, but the price is a bit high for the level of care that has been put into (or not put into) the property. A number of surfaces looked and felt a bit dirty, it smelled of smoking done in does gone by, and little things here and there were broken or not working well. Nothing was an outright deal-killer but the place didnât seem to justify the price. A little more cleanliness would have been appreciated. We would come and stay again if these things could be improved on.
We have stayed here at least 4 times in the last 6 months, never had any issues. This stay was bad from the start and than continued. We firstly couldn't get any pool time, because I called 8 days in advance instead of 7. I can't say staff was very concerned, or even tried to accommodate us; ie take our name if someone cancelled. While we were here our room did not have hot water, we had barely warm water but showers were freezing and I have a medical condition that makes me unable to withstand the cold. Last was trying to get basic supplies, the room provided a book with hours and stuff to do. Office hours were listed on Saturday until 10pm, I called at 8 and went down to the office and no one was there. So we couldn't even get towels for our cold shower. I don't see us returning, I would rather rent a house and ensure we have hot water and at least I know I won't have anyone there for customer service.
First thing we noticed was the filthy couch, I called to complain was told by the very nice manager that they have tried to spot clean it, steam clean it and nothing worked the couch was due to be replaced. I said, you need to stay on top of these things. A clean condo needs to be presented. Then I noticed a moldy shower curtain in the master bath, Internet was in and out, TV did not work in the master bed room, housekeeper brought it back but reception was lost again and I never got it back. The silverware caddy had a hair in it, the living room bedspread was dated and faded. I mean this is bad management. I was told by the housekeeper that they are hiring
new people and the current people where being replaced. I paid good money for a place that fit my family from out of town. I wanted us to have a good time. The worst of it was that we found a gross filthy blanket in the storage under the couch and my Grandson did not have a blanket the first night. The accommodating manager gave me a discount but I had to call to remind. The Managers live in Portland and should live in Lincoln City. Really sad!
We have been staying at Sea Gypsy every winter for years. We love the space, pool, beach and view.
This year however, the seal on the window of 319 was broken so the main window was fogged and the view was only visible from the two side windows. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
See you next year!
Amazing view. Clean and well appointed as far as kitchen, bath. Plenty of towels and cookware. Decor minimal and dated. Bed comfortable. Pillows great.
We loved this property! It was convenient to everything & had a great view. Perfect place to celebrate my birthday weekend. Will definitely stay here again.
We chose Sea Gypsy because we hadn't ever stayed here and wanted to check it out. Plus, most of the reviews were good. A bit disappointed with the room we had. First impression and the most concerning was the dishes and room not seeming clean. I had hoped, especially with COVID that we wouldnt have to question how well it was cleaned. Dishes with food still on them, ortho treatment rubberband's on the carpet, hair (not ours) in the bed, dead bugs, a dog barking ALL the time in the room next to us. One great thing was the pool and sauna. Wish we could have had a better experience. Would love to come back because it was a convenient area but just unsure. :-(
Have stayed at the Sea Gypsy several times before so are familiar with the property. It is in a superb area with outstanding views and beach access. The room was as advertised and in good shape for the age of the building. We had no complaints other than the fact that other guests were not following the smoking policy and so had quite a bit of both dope and tobacco smoke blow in the windows we had open much of the time we were in the room. Otherwise we were blessed with great weather and open restaurants. Had a great time.
Sea Gypsy No. 319, which we call "Dock Cousteau," is a third-floor condo that enjoys the best view of the coastline. It sleeps 6 in two separate sleeping areas with a kitchenette and two full bathrooms.
