This property is exactly as described!
Private, amazing views, perfect location. The cabin is northern Michigan at its best. Place is clean and well stocked. Stayed at many places on lake Charlevoix, we will be back to this one!
Quiet, peaceful setting with beautiful view of lake
The house was clean and just as pictured, and well stocked with the basics (trash liners, paper towels, etc). The lake was beautiful, clear water and found several petosky stones. Very quiet and peaceful setting. The woods were not "hikeable" as we hoped (dense, no trails) however they provided very nice privacy. Handrails at entry would make this property more 55+ friendly. Nice proximity to Boyne for easy shopping, and Ironton Ferry for a day in Charlevoix. Loved the canoe and shallow water. Overall a great home for multiple families!
Awesome vacation cottage
We have stayed here for our family vacation the past two years, and absolutely love it! The cottage is spacious, immaculate, and equipped with everthing you will need. We had three generations of family here, and there was enough room for all of us. The location is perfect. There is lots to do, or just relax and do nothing! I would highly recommend this cottage. We definitely would like to come back.
My 60th birthday
My 60th birthday is in Sept. but we celebrated it in June. My kids, grandkids, my husband and I (10 in all) stayed at this cabin for a week. Had a wonderful time. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to get in the water in June but we had 3 days of near 90 degrees and the water felt great. It's close to everything. Went to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Macinaw Island on 2 different days. Not far at all. The cabins were great. It has everything you need as advertised. The water was a little high but all the more shallow for the grandkids. We all had a wonderful time. With 10 people it wasn't crowded at all. I would definitely recommend this place for your vacation. June is still a good month to go.
This place is perfect for us
We rented this place in 2013 and again this year for a week in the summer. Our group has been renting for our annual summer vacation for 10 years now and we like this property the best. We have 11-12 of us and the two separate cabins give us plenty of space, sleeping options, and opportunities to be in your own space if you need some down time. Great combination of modern amenities along with old fashioned rustic comfort. The porch off the main cabin provides grandma and grandpa with their preferred shade while giving them a great view of the lake and beach below. Very clean, well appointed, and welcoming atmosphere. The owner is easy to deal with and very responsive to any request or issue that might arise.
We'll be back!
Just returned from a 7 night stay at this incredible cabin. Loved everything about it! A few highlights:
Beach: Incredible, and perfect for small kids. Water is high relative to recent norms (in 2014) but there was plenty of sandy beach, and we could easily wade out 200+ feet before the water eclipsed 4 feet deep. Beyond that, the water deepens quickly ... but it's perfect for small kids (which we had plenty of, with 1, 2, 3 and 5 year olds). Kids could play in the sand, and within 20 feet of shore without worry. Water was clear and 70 degrees plus (even after the horrible winter we just had). Even went swimming at night, and loved it! The view in the morning is incredible ... and morning swims are a must!
A-Frame / Cabin: The property consists of two separate buildings separated by a covered breezeway. The A-Frame was command central for our trip, with its open kitchen, island, and living room area, but the cabin could have easily served this purpose. We had four separate families on our trip, and at one point, 13 people staying ... we all had private space for ourselves, and we all slept comfortably. Buildings are in great shape, and offer a nice blend of rustic + modern conveniences. Stove, oven, microwaves, two refrigerators, dishwasher, front-loading washer/dryer (which we used extensively), multiple TVs, games, etc. You literally only need to bring clothes, and food, and you're good to go! The deck on the A-Frame is awesome ... great place to have coffee in the morning, and offers incredible views of the lake (photos don't do it justice).
Accommodations: Dishes, glassware, silverware, bedding, towels, washcloths, dish towels, cookie sheets, gas grill, fire pit, pillows, blankets, TVs, WIFI, XBox, games, furniture, beach chairs, deck chairs ... this place literally has everything you need.
People: The owner was a fantastic guy, offering help at every turn. Be sure to hook up with Bert for firewood (great deal!).
Overall: We will DEFINITELY be back ... this was our first rental through VRBO, so we were a bit nervous. Prior positive reviews convinced us this was a good move, and we didn't regret it a bit. When you pull in the driveway, and take in the incredible view, you'll be sold. When you wake up, and take in the view of Lake Charlevoix in the morning, drink some coffee on the deck, take a swim, then close the evening by a bonfire on the beach, you'll be sold as well.
Thank you Matt for the great memories for our family! Loved it
