The space
The Hansel & Gretel Doppelhaus is a duplex with one unit upstairs and one unit on the ground level. Built in 1920, The Hansel & Gretel Doppelhaus is an enchanting experience right out of a storybook fairytale.

The Hansel & Gretel Doppelhaus is a unique enchanting property conventionally located adjacent to a main street leading to the award winning Clearwater Beach - just a 10 minute drive away! Perfect for a group needing two separate units but looking to share a property.

As a group occupying both units you can enjoy all the special moments the home has to offer like enjoying your complimentary morning coffee on the front porch swing and you just might catch a glimpse of the famous vintage style Jolley Trolleys on its route. Relax on the backyard porch swing taking in natural garden views while your group BBQ’s in the large yard. Need some space from your group? Grab a book from the magical bookcase in Hansel Haus and escape in a good read. Want to be in the mix? Take in the city from on the second story deck of Gretel Haus. Need some personal self-care? unwind after a long day in the sun with a soak in the antique claw foot tub.

This extremely cute, cozy duplex embodies whimsical charm and detail with two very special units within 400 square feet of the Gretel Upstairs unit and 600 square feet in the ground level unit Hansel Haus. Every travel group always has those early risers and afternoon risers, imagine being able to plan sleeping arrangements based on preference. The Hansel & Gretel Doppelhaus will give you the flexibility to separate your group and still have access to two full units. The Gretel upstairs unit has two Queen memory foam mattresses. The Hansel ground floor unit has 3 memory foam mattresses - 1 Queen, 1-Full and one trundle twin. Both units are filled with many preserved original features, but added modern amenities such as Wi-Fi & smart TV’s.

The historic space features unique vintage natural woodwork, warm and rich cypress paneling, pine floors, exposed brick, clawfoot tub, one-of-a-kind doors, multi-paned windows, antique doorknobs and showy historic fixtures that have been kept and maintained and are what makes this home so adorable.

The Hansel and Gretel Doppelhaus is set on a large wooded natural exotic lot with an oversized backyard with native grapefruit, mango & papaya trees. It’s a great escape nestled right in the mix close to Downtown with the famous Clearwater Beach just a 10 minute drive from the property.
This home's 102 year old artsy architecture is reminiscent of the German fairytale Hansel & Gretel. We found it fitting to name the Duplex Hansel & Gretel Doppelhaus (German for Duplex).

Guest access
When lodging at the Hansel & Gretel Doppelhaus. You'll have access to the entire first level and entire second story home (Both units). Both units have separate entries.
Other things to note
The Hansel unit is on the first floor but does have steps up and down the porches.

The Gretel unit is on the second story with several stairs.

The property is a duplex upper level Gretel unit above the Hansel Unit lower unit.

The laundry room is a common area with one washer and one dryer.

There are cameras on the outside areas on the property. They are motion activated and record audio.

Absolutely no parties or events.

Longer stays will require a lease to be signed and copies of government issued IDs.

No smoking or vaping of any kind.

This charming duplex was built in 1920. Our family is passionate about keeping as much original charm as possible and sharing our love of historic spaces with others. The neighborhood has grown from historic homes to include a main artery conventionally located adjacent to a main street leading to the award winning Clearwater Beach.

The place is rented part time and serves as a home for family members part time, please respect it during your stay. We also can't accommodate any animals due to severe allergies in our family members and a cleaning lady.

The homeowner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises. Only registered guests are allowed on the property.

Guests shall allow homeowner access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. This right shall be exercised in a reasonable manner.
