Poor Communication with Host
First time renting this type of property via Vrbo due to a family emergency. I received a confirmation email and an email with the virtual key. I assumed that was all we needed to enter the property. We arrived at the property late at night with the unfortunate surprise that we could not enter. All attempts to reach the host were unsuccessful, leaving us with no option than to find an alternative to spend the night (2nd Worst Experience). Early the next morning I received a call from the host and he admitted his wife failed to send me the email with the necessary codes and instructions to enter the property. I explained to him that we had to pay to stay the night elsewhere and he said he would compensate us. Once again I attempted to contact the host regarding another minor issue but the response was limited. The bathroom was missing the towel rack and the shower was not the most appealing. Upon check out I called him once again to discuss reimbursement for the night we weren’t able to occupy the property and he said he would have to initiate the request to come directly from Vrbo. After almost a month, again I contact him to get a status on the reimbursement and he was surprised to learn that I had not received any reimbursement or communication from Vrbo. Finally, after I reminded him that it was his and his wife’s negligence that resulted in this situation, he agreed to reimburse me😡😡😡
