An excellent home for our family group in town for son's Belmont graduation (parents of Belmont or Vanderbilt seniors should reserve many months in advance). Easy quick walk to Belmont campus and 12South. A 100 year-old Craftsman home: cozy and really interesting. The owners show great hospitality and are dedicated to your enjoyment. Highly recommend.
Our group of nine-3 parents and 6 adult or late teen children-visited Nashville for a family wedding, and Selah House was the perfect setting. It's in a great neighborhood with shops and restaurants and just 15 minutes or so from so many Nashville "must-see's." The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable, and hosts Ben and Elaine exemplified hospitality every step of the way, from helping negotiate problems paying through VRBO to a really informative binder of information, snacks, and even a personalized welcome note. I highly recommend Selah House to any Nashville traveler.
This property was very charming and provided all the amenities for a comfortable stay. The location was prime for all of our sonâs wedding activities as well as easy walk to the 12 South shopping and dining area.
Came for the weekend with high school friends. Close to all of activity, but far enough away to enjoy a quiet evening. Hosts are lovely and attentive. Recommend!
We absolutely loved the house. It was perfect for us. The owners are great and were very caring and friendly. If I come back to Nashville I would love to get this house again. Perfect location, close enough to downtown but far enough away that we could relax and enjoy.
The house was very clean and comfortable in a great location. The owners provided considerate provisions in the house that came in handy during our stay. And they were extremely pleasant and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this house for anyone visiting Nashville.
We had a wonderful stay at Saleh House. Ben and Elaine were excellent hosts - they were there when we needed them and left us alone to enjoy our stay at other times. The house was well stocked with all the essentials and then some. The house was quiet as was the neighborhood yet close enough to all the places we wanted to visit. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely, spacious, and antique-filled home. The location was perfect, as it was completely walkable to parks, restaurants, coffee houses, and our extended family's rentals.
Even though it was March, the gardens were pretty, and we spent time sitting on the front porch. The back deck was also welcoming and expansive.
The kitchen was very well stocked, and we appreciated the coffee, half & half, eggs, rolls, cereal and snacks provided.
We would highly recommend this home for family reunions or quiet gatherings. It's pretty special. Thank you!
We stayed with 4 adults and 4 kids (2, 4, 8, 10). Many in our family play musical instruments, so both pianos, the cabinet organ, and the guitar got lots of use for family play along and sing alongs. When we weren't playing music, we had great family time with the massive store of board games. Ben & Elaine were very friendly and responsive to any questions that we had.
All in all, we had a great family get away to just disconnect and enjoy all the sites of Nashville that was just a few minutes drive. In the time of COVID-19, it made for a great family mental refresher.
The place was beautiful and in a great location. We took a girlsâ trip and we absolutely loved the house! It was walking distance to great food and shops and a short ride to Broadway. The landlords were so accommodating and responsive. Highly recommended!
We chose this property due to its proximity to Belmont University to attend our sonâs graduation. It was perfect in every way. Easy to park as we were in and out all weekend. A quick walk to Belmont. Owner supplied breakfast supplies that really came in handy. Home was just lovely all decorated for Christmas. Weâre thinking of booking next year and just bringing the presents đ Thank you so much Ben & Elaine.
This house was well decorated and maintained, spacious, and full of features to make our stay enjoyable. The full kitchen had everything we needed, and the house was large enough to easily host our large family comfortably.
The property is very comfortable and very clean. The house has many unique features that make it interesting. We spent time relaxing on the front porch enjoying the beautiful neighborhood.
If you are coming to visit someone at Belmont this location is fantastic. We walked to many shops and restaurants on 12th street and also on Belmont Blvd.
Great property!
Ben and Elaine are great people. Elaine was so nice and helpful to my mom, who is having knee surgery soon. Elaine offered my mom a walker to help her get around with us. Thank you Elaine! We did not stay at the house a lot because we were to busy enjoying Nashville, but when we were there we had everything thing we needed. My mom stayed home some evenings while my husband and I went to one of the local bar and grills for a bit, which is a block away from the house. We really had a great time in Nashville! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home.
A great home and fantastic hosts. I cannot think of anything we would change. A beautiful home combined with great weather made for a superb Easter weekend stay!
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Owner is was very racist and locked me out of property
House very outdated.Owner lives in bottom of house and xomplain the entire night about noise. We only had 14 people and 5 were children . Complained about us taping video for family who couldn't attend Thanksgiving dinner to our videographer who was white. He said a lot of racist statements to him about our group. We only used house for Thanksgiving dinner. When we returned to house the next day he had entered property and went thru our belongings and locked us out of property. Horrible owner and racist comments that were made to video Grapher was evil and very hurtful. Be aware you are renting from Racist
Ben and Eileen are the most thoughtful hosts I have had the pleasure of staying with. The house was spotless, the amenities were above and beyond (I had forgotten face soap and there were tiny make-up remover packs in the bathroom, among many other things that made our stay so easy). The kitchen was very well stocked. The location is perfect to visit 12 South and Belmont. It's an easily walkable neighborhood and we will not hesitate to book with them again.
We would definitely stay here again! Perfect for a family or a girls trip. Large eclectic home.
Bonus... the refrigerator is pretty much stocked for anything you would need.
My girlfriends and I couldn't have felt more welcomed and comfortable in this sweet home. We especially appreciated the breakfast items (eggs, English muffins, juice, coffee, etc.). The decor in the house is eclectic and done to perfection. The communication with the owners was timely and seamless. You can bet we won't forget their hospitality and will make plans for another visit sometime in the future.
The house was very nice and big. All of the bedrooms are big and have lots of space. The house was very clean and check in/out was easy. The neighborhood is situated walking distance from great restaurants and in a quiet neighborhood. Easy communication with the owners. Would definitely stay there again.
Ben & Elaine have lived in this house 31 years, since their children were small. Ben is a filmmaker, photographer and musician. Throughout the years Ben has filmed and photographed numerous musicians in his studio including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and Rich Mullins to name a few. Elaine is an NICC nurse at Centennial Medical Center. They love to travel and have gone to many unusual places in the world. Ben worked with Compassion International, World Vision and Food for the Hungry for years so his passport is peppered with numerous barely known third world counties.
We chose this home primarily because Ben came here to shoot album covers and we are only blocks from music row. We love it here and expect that it will be in the family for generations. Most of the must see spots are less than a 10 min drive without even getting on the interstate. It is walking distance from Belmont University for any families wishing to check it out or attend graduation. It is perfect for a family reunion, college reunion, groups coming to attend a wedding. Walking to many excellent restaurants from our front door is a bonus since sometimes it's nice to not deal with traffic and parking. We love hosting here, it's so inviting!
This 100+ year old house with it's classic layout and high ceilings lets you breathe, relax, pause and reflect. Life goes by too fast. There are fun little corners to explore. Many people have said it reminds them of their grandma's house. built in 1916 there are many unique features that just aren't seen in houses built after the 1940's. In spite of it's age this house is energy efficient and is cool in summer and warm in winter thanks to our Geothermal water furnace. Take time to just be. Selah... Many of our guests love sitting on the front porch reading or talking and listening to the fountain and the birds. In spite of the peaceful quiet location it is walking distance to numerous fun shops and 5 star Restaurants.
