Lovely little home with everything to meet your needs. Located in a quiet neighborhood, just a short walk from the main street of our little town. Central to everything Humboldt has to offer. The coast, the redwoods, historical old towns, and with in walking distance to the river.
The check in email just said "The host hasn't provided arrival information yet. For the most up-to-date info, contact the property manager directly" but the property manager was able to give me access information when contacted. Space hadn't been cleaned when I tried to check in at 7pm but manager refunded my cleaning fee because I had to wait an hour to access the space while it was cleaned.
Beds were comfortable and that's the only positive. Have to access bathroom through bedroom so uncomfortable for person in 2nd bedroom to use toilet at night. Mold in shower. Sink faucet wouldn't turn off completely. No hand towels , dish towels,or pot holders..Many electric outlet s don't work.Kitchen had some fringe pans but little else. No pots o baking dishes. Refrigerator wasn't working and property mgr. had to reset breaker, No spatula. Few dishes no dish drainer that fits the plates. Living room blind wouldn't lower and the drapes are sheer so no privacy at night. All in all, a miserable place to. Stay.
The essentials were good: comfortable bed; well-appointed kitchen; nice-sized rooms. The place was quiet and convenient. Other than the essentials above, not clean around the edges at all. Could use a really good cleaning and kitchen cabinets replaced. Bathroom is tiny, but that was anticipated. Bathroom was very old. Fulfilled cooking a good dinner and a great nightâs sleep.
I hate to leave a negative review, so Iâll start with the positive- it looked like they wanted to set up a nice comfortable rental in an older, small house. They put new flooring in kitchen, bathroom and living room, along with new stove, countertop tvs couch chairs etc⊠but why would you do all this and not deep clean first? The window sills were so dirty, cobwebs and dead flies. The shower had black mold/ it took me a day and a half to get up the courage to take a shower. The only outlet that worked in the bedroom had the lamp and the bed(?) plugged in so we couldnât use it, the two outlets on the opposite wall did not work so no tv and no charging. There was only one outlet on the kitchen countertop so that was just inconvenient but not horrible. Some of the windows that had screens were ripped out so the house filled up with flysâŠsome didnât have screens so trying to cool down was hardâŠ. tons of dog poop in the front and sides of the house- we didnât realize and of course tracked it into the kitchen- major clean. A sign and a small shovel would have been nice, and a fly swatter!! I have a small rental in Alaska so Iâm probably gonna be somewhat hard, and if only the place had been clean I could have lived with everything else but combined together it was basically a really bad rental. Get someone in there to deep clean, fix the doors on your cabinets, the screens on your windows, get the outlets working and a shovel for the fog poop and youâd have a decent little rental.
