This venue sits right off Hwy 101 in the middle of beautiful Humboldt County in the small town of Scotia. Scotia was one of America's last remaining company towns. The Pacific Lumber Company became a force in the early 1900s milling the gigantic Redwood Trees. This home was built as the Director's Cabin for company executives. Perfect for family vacations, wedding parties, holidays, or time spent with dear friends! Very close to the world famous Avenue of the Giants! The space This home is 4350 square feet of luxury. It features a spacious front porch, a very large living room with Redwood paneling and a gas fireplace. Each of the six bedrooms has its' own bathroom. A card room where reportedly millions of dollars were won and lost back in the day. An amazing kitchen with a Butler's pantry and a side yard with a large gas BBQ. The dining room has a seven foot solid Redwood Burl table....Priceless! Other things to note Currently the ceiling light in the bedroom downstairs is in the process of being re-wired. I have three lamps in there for lighting.
We truly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful home. It was spacious, beautifully decorated and provided everything you could need and more. Loved the huge front porch. There werenât too many rules, regulations or cameras so we could truly relax and enjoy this home and explore the beauty of Humboldt County. It felt like the owners truly cared about their renters enjoying their amazing home. We made lasting memories with our daughter and teenage grandkids. Thanks for sharing and making it possible to have a lovely experience.
This home is an amazing piece of history in an amazing little town! Built in 1919, it has been updated with the necessary amenities but keeps its historic charm. Lots to do in and around this home. Our family of 10 stayed very comfortably with plenty of room to spread out! We absolutely will stay again in this gem!!!
Very clean and accomodating property for family schedules that differ. Plenty of spaces to gather. Kids enjoyed blowing bubbles on front porch and back yard. Family style round table worked well for meals. Good location for excursions to parks trails and coast
The home was great for our family of 9. All bedrooms having a bathroom was a plus. The kitchen provided everything we needed when cooking our meals. The dining room and living room were great for gathering. We were there during a heat wave and opening the windows and using the fans provided cooled the house down quickly and was very comfortable. We very much enjoyed staying in this historic home. Host Michele stayed in touch during our stay and was very helpful.
