Disappointing
We booked an apartment at Helsen’s in August 2022 for 7 people and a dog.
Although the apartment was advertised as equipped with a balcony, there was no balcony in our apartment, and this caused a real problem for our dog. Had we known this in the first place we would not have booked there.
For a reason unknown to us, the owner was apparently not informed about the presence of the dog and required us to pay a supplement. We had an argument about this issue, but the owner was not open to any compromise and basically told us we were free to leave if we refuse to pay. We were trapped and had no other choice than accepting.
We were given an attic apartment where we could not stand upright in a large portion of the whole surface. This, together with the lack of balcony made us feel cramped throughout our stay. Other problems included a tiny kitchen with outdated furnishing and no locks on toilets and bathrooms. Also, the apartment is advertised with a view to the Hochkönig, but although the Hochkönig is visible from a small window in one of the sleeping rooms, the main view is actually facing the opposite direction.
All in all, we’ve been disappointed by our stay at Helsen’s and feel like we didn’t get the value for our money. We do not plan to return to this location, nor do we recommend it.
