Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Marine Surf was as described with respect to the location and the unit. It was clean and comfortable. The beach, restaurants and shops were literally minutes away. We hope to return to Hawaii and would not hesitate to stay here again

Great place in Waikiki!

Pros:- Spacious for 2 people: Studio with a full kitchen AND a dining space- Awesome location: close to everything, was within a block of a Target and walking distance of so many restaurants- Parking included: saved us from so many headaches not having to worry about parking since we had a reserved spot for us- Safe: Key fob required to access floors, gave us a better sense of safety and security - also had a nice lobby/ entranceCons:- Strange experience with check-in: Upon checking into our room, the deadbolt lock had activated but was not latched in, so when we arrived, our door to our unit was open. As stated above, the building felt very safe and upon entering, nothing looked out of place so this ended up not being a big deal, but it was strange arriving to our unit with the front door cracked open. Overall, this was a great place in Waikiki though and I would definitely stay here again!

Great location

We loved the location and space, great restaurants and shops within walking distance. The included parking was great and overall enjoyed staying here. I will say that I was sent the wrong code for check in and communication was slow from the host. Everything else was great!

Close to everything

This place is a short 5 minute walk to the beach. It was fantastic having a parking spot that we didn't have to pay extra for. Check in was easy. All you need to do is read the detailed instructions. Perfect stay for 2 people. The central location allowed us to walk to the many restaurants in town after driving to farther beaches during the day

Great location, rundown condo

Given I booked last minute and this is the only condo that was available, I was grateful. Here for a family emergency. I’ve stayed in the Marine Surf many times over the past 8 years but this condo was the most rundown: broken springs in the soiled couch, ac that drips in a bucket on the lanai- the guest is supposed to empty it and it fills up every 6 hrs. No beach towels or chairs, no decor to speak of and 1/3 of the lanai window is boarded up - it’s dark inside compared to most. The table and chairs are awkward - the table is high, the chairs are low. With some upgrades, it would be fine, just run down. The bed was ok if I kept to the middle. The included parking is what makes the Marine Surf my top choice, every condo is different.

Location!

Great location to shops and dining. AC was not as strong and we kept having to empty containers. Just like others have stated it is noisy but you are in the city nothing I couldn't sleep through.

Easy to enjoy!

Within walking distance to anything you could want. It was easy to get around. There was more happening in the neighborhood than we planned on but it didn't interfere with our stay. We were avle to eat some meals in and some out. If you stay here, check out Kelly O'Neil's for 5 star service in a great bar atmosphere. We would definitely consider staying here again!

Birthday trip

The place was good and location was near everything there is music playing from the restaurant near by but it ends at 10pm so it was not too bad. The parking was great very convenient. Only thing the chairs were very wobbly some screws came off so we were scared to sit on them. The kitchen sink wasn’t working but I contacted the owner and they replied fast. Overall the stay was great fast walk to the beach and a bunch of restaurant and shops

Excellent location. 2 blocks from Waikiki Beach. Walked to the beach every morning before breakfast for a swim in the ocean. Clean and comfortable. Check in and out was a breeze. We had an issue with our door lock afterhours. Lei Reality was able to take care of it quickly. We would stay here again.

Works well in waikiki

Good place to stay in the heart of waikiki. Parking spot is a huge benefit. Easy in and out. The room is big, nice bed, and pretty much full kitchen. Ac works well, good views, very enjoyable. Close to biking, beach, shopping , restaurants, waikiki trolley ect. It needs a little work on the sliding door, other than that the space worked well and we enjoyed are stay here.

We had everything we needed. The location is excellent. The fact that we had a parking space was priceless. It is noisy at night, city noise. You have to keep checking the AC drip bucket often because if you forget, water leaks out the balcony and the building management immediately gives you a written warning threatening turning off your AC if it happens again. So, just don’t forget :)

Needs some remodeling, but good value

Main improvement would be to patio door/wall. Very old making the noise from nearby clubs very loud. If you plan to be out at clubs til late this would be ok place. Location is central to night life. Bathroom and lights need some updating.

Bring earplugs!

Everything was great except the street noise at night. Bands just below play till late and then trash collection trucks beeping in early AM. We bought earplugs and left a fan there to help drown out the noise.

A Studio as pictured

The picture is accurate, this is a studio. Shampoo & body wash were in small bottles. Fortunately, we brought out own toiletries. Location good although there is way more activity in this beginning location of Waikiki. of More people & noise but not really noticeable if the doors are closed. If you want less action stay on the far (east) end of Waikiki. Either way, you're just a couple blocks from the beach. Just a few steps to the bus stop, too. I rate communication with managing company as fair. Took hours to get a reply when we had a problem. Do communicate through VRBO app or website.

Bare Bones with good location & parking

We have stayed in this condo complex before and pick it because of location & free parking. We were disappointed with this condo though. It was VERY basic. One set of towels, terrible pillows( we went and bought a pillow & extra wash clothes and Beach towels) No coffee filters for coffee( went a bought also) air conditioner bucket had to be emptied and the air conditioner also leaked all over our clothes and couch. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and free parking and don’t care about anything else this will work for you. Also, the lanai door barely opens. We were afraid of breaking it because you have to push it so hard. Nothing made us want to rent this place again.

From LA to HNL!

Location was so awesome!! It was literally walking distance from anything in Waikiki. I really loved where it was located. Parking was so clutch! I didn't realize how hard it was to park in Waikiki so thankfully we had a FREE parking spot. The check in process was a bit longer than expected.to figure out how to get into the building/parking but after we got the keys it was easy. We did not get the 2nd key which made it a bit of a challenge for me and my friend since we had to share one key. I did reach out to the property owner but they took a while to respond. They allegedly dropped off the key with front desk but it was the night before check out so at that point there was no point. I would recommend this stay to friends and family if they are looking for the location and parking, other than that it was an ok stay.

Great Location, Decent Room, Horrible Check In Instructions

There are some positives with this condo. Location is in the heart of Waikiki, the assigned parking stall will save you time and money, kitchen with cookware and utensils, rice cooker, coffee maker, and wi-fi, however the initial check-in instructions was a nightmare. There were 2 separate email instructions, one on how to get into your room, and another with instructions on how to get into the combination mailbox to get your key fob to use the elevator and to access the parking garage. The second no-reply email was so tiny and unreadable but since the subject stated check in Instructions, we already received instructions previously, so we're good. We couldn't park, access the mailbox, the elevator, or our room. There was no way to contact the owner's because there was no contact information in any prior emails. It took over 2 hours with some help from my sister, who is a relator, to reach someone. There's no local or cable t.v., however if you like extremely loud music until 10 p.m. this place is for you. However in the owner's Welcome Binder in the room, they do state: "Remember!! This is not a Hotel, but affordable condo! We don't provide customer service." Facts, however I would stay here again. For the price, you cant beat it.

great location, nice place, HORRIBLE communication

I stayed for 3 nights. Check in was at 3 pm. I arrived at 330 &the door has a key pad to type in a code to get in. I received an email the day before with check instructions with the code. I tried it 5 times and nothing worked. I called the number on file and a lady answered and I explained what's going on. She said she would get back to me in a little. 15 minutes passed and I called back went to voicemail. Then another 30 passed called again went to voicemail. I was basically stranded out of my own vrbo that I already paid for. I decide to go downstairs and just wait. I was so upset because I kept trying to call and it led me to voicemail EVERY TIME. Finally she calls back says she called someone to basically break the door down so that I can get into the facility. The man finally comes around 6:45 pm.... he tells me the battery on the lock on the door is dead that's why its not opening. This man literally had to unscrew the sides of the door so he could open the door and then change the batteries. The lady decides to text me instead of call me for updates. At this point I just did not understand why we were communication via text when she had my phone number. So just imagine if the vendor did not come and help break the door open? They already took my money& I would've had to find a place to stay for a night until the next day IF they planned for someone to come help me in the next day. No check out instructions emailed either. Just waiting on my deposit reimbursed to me
