Les points faibles : Emplacement et exactitude de lâannonce
We were supposed to stay in an apartment near the water but about a month prior we were moved due to that VRBO not being allowed to have tenants. The apartment is beautiful but extremely loud, even on the 6th floor. I could hear everything in the street, there are bars and restaurants downstairs with bands playing late into the night. A lot of screaming, etc. The air conditioning is also difficult to work, so it was either on or off, using the breaker.
The location of the property was fantastic since weâd ridden the train. An easy walk. I didnât realize that there was no elevator, OR that the property was on the fourth floor. So all six of us had to carry all of our luggage up the four narrow flights. The rooms are not really room but bed tucked away in corners. So there really was no privacy. Also, on Expedia when it says there were two bathrooms I assumed there would be two showers. That is not the case. There is only one shower so trying to get six people out the door in the morning was a challenge. Also, there were no lights with bulbs in the living room so it was too dark to sit in there at night. The bathroom that was there was tired with handles falling off the cabinetry and the only shower itself. The view of the water and the two story living room windows were lovely.
The best aspect of this space was the location! It is so close to all Old Quebec has to offer and spacious so that we could all have space. The check in process was straightfoward and the manager was communicative through messaging and worked to find solutions as needed. The place is about 3 flights up - which didn't bother us as we usually only were going out or coming back a few times in a day. The space showed a little wear - some missing or burned out lights which made the living room darker. The dryer didn't work but the manager was able to help come up with a temporary solution since we were out of clean clothes by then. ) Overall we enjoyed our stay because of the location and the apartment was nice.
Communication from the host once you are there and if you have a problem is nonexistent!! Although the location and overall property was nice, the snow (although it was minor in accumulation) prevented the main door to the location from closing even though my husband kept cleaning out the door jam. On the second day we stayed we lost water to the kitchen sink, dishwasher and bathroom shower/tub. I emailed our host twice and called the following morning (after not getting an email response). I left a message with a male individual who stated our host was not home. To the date of this review I still have not received a call or email from the host. We realized it was Carnival weekend but a quick response letting us know if it was a building problem or individual apt issue would have been nice. The water was finally working at 9:30 a.m. as we were heading out the door to travel back home.
We were 3 friends who stayed for 3 nights. Overall, we liked the place and enjoyed our stay. The condo was very clean and walking distance from the train station and walking distance to good restaurants, cafe and the old part of the city.
The few suggestions for improvement would be to revise the photos. For example, there is no hockey/fusball table top and no hammock in the condo. The lamps shown in the living room photo are not in the actual condo. The condo lacks lamps and lighting at night. We found it dark. The electrical sockets only work when one socket is in use so you could not have a lamp and a phone charger plugged into the same outlet and turned on.
I would also recommend the owners add in some small essentials like more dish towels, a recycling bin and coffee.
Finally, the water pressure is very low. The water is hot, which was great, but not strong.
The location really made this place for us and the fact that is was clean. I think some slight adjustments to the unit could make it wonderful.
Great place and location. Close to all shops. Lots of space in condo for 6 adults.
There is a lot of stairs and after walking through old town you will get your exercise. Wifi a little slow but we were out and about so didnât bother us.
Our check in process was a bit confusing. The loft is on the 4th floor with no elevator and the terrasse is in the 6th floor and is shared. The terrasse was lovely and we were the only ones using it. There were no essentials (salt, pepper, hand soap, cleaning products, sponge for dishes). The fridge was dirty and sticky and we had 2 towels for 4 people.
The location is amazing and they answer very quickly to all calls and emails. The beds were clean and comfortable. Just bring everything you need including salt, coffee and hand soap.
Nice looking place and well located in the lower town. But:
1/ 4th floor without elevator and killer stairs; if you have young kids or folks with mobility problems stairs will be an issue.
2/ cleanliness is questionable. Apartment was ok but other areas like the entrance we dirty.
3/ wifi weak and does not reach living room.
4/ AC unit inadequate to cool unit. Temperature in rooms reached 80 degrees. And air flow in apartment is bad so even opening windows on cool nights did not help.
5/ many things breaking down for shower head to cabinets to AC unit itself.
Overall it was just ok but would not return to that place
Our accommodations were perfect, my only regret is that we werenât staying long enough to utilize all our of the amenities. It was the perfect walking distance to Palliardâs so we can walk off the calories that we consumed.
About 90% of the stay was great. The apartment was very clean n eazy to get in and out. Almost everything was in walking distance. My main issue was the heat. It was 90+ almost everyday we were there and the whole apartment only has 1 ac unit. It took almost a full day to get apartment to room temp, and you can forget about getting any sort of air in back room it was basically a sauna. I would stay again but probably not in summer. Parking is right across the street making it super convenient to drive in too.
We were a group of 5 ladies aged 25 to 80. We arrived by train and the condo was within walking distance. This condo was within walking distance to everything in Old Quebec. The condo was very comfortable and very clean. What you see in the display photos, is exactly what you get, it is beautiful. The rooftop terrace was fabulous, we made good use of it. I have already recommended this place to friends.
The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was that there was no coffee. Other places I stayed provided coffee and sugar packets. This was a very small inconvenience, the was a grocery store within walking distance too.
The other small disappointment was that the person who met us at the condo spoke very little English. Luckily we had one person in our group that spoke French. Everywhere else we went, shops, restaurants, bistros, the staff were bilingual. Like I say my 2 disappointments were very minor and easy to fix.
