Pretty little flat with a stunning view and in very good location. Thanks god we booked a second bedding for the sleeping sofa as the bed in the master bedroom was quite small. Not suitable for two persons to sleep comfortably in my opinion. The interior is a bit outdated and could have a bit of an upgrade. The communication with the owner was very friendly. The parking situation is quite tricky. We were not in the high season so we had always luck to find a parking spot at the parking lot you have always to pay for.
Exceptionally clean. No frills but the most amazing view and location. We loved it and hope to return when I attend the St I yes school of painting again
It was overall a pleasant stay at this property. The apartment was right at the top of the St Ives harbour with an excellent view of the sea from the living room. The apartment was clean and cozy. . loved our stay. definitely will be back soon!
pleasant accommodation with the best view of St.Ives
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The apartment is comfortably furnished, clean and has a beautiful view. Our communication with the host was smooth and we hope to return someday!
This property was perfect for our stay.... so handy for the town.. and beautiful view over my favorite harbour :)) window seat perfect to read and watch the world go by :) my only recommendations would be to have a couple of coffee/ tea sachets available for arrival.... and check-in is a little late... but apart from that... it was perfect, we shall definately return :)
watch the world go by x
Whatever the weather this flat was perfect. A wonderful view, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water & very efficient heating when needed
On arrival all access information worked well. The flat was spotless, cosy and welcoming. We made a full Christmas dinner for our daughter, son in law 2 grandsonâs so plenty of kitchen utensils and a cooker that performed well. Hasten to add our daughter and her family live in St Ives. The views were spectacular and added bonus of the view of the Harbour Christmas lights. Would recommend for a cosy romantic break for 2 and Mary we will definitely be booking again . Thank you Chris and Shaun
Apart from the panoramic view on the harbour and the bay from the large windows in the sitting room there is a nice terrace outside where you can eat or read a book.
The town centre is not far away yet it is quite calm in these peaceful surroundings -> therefore great for families and people fit enough to cope with the steep ways.
Cornwall and especially St Ives are always worth a visit :-)
Location was fine. It was represented that there was a washer/dryer so we packed accordingly but there was no washer dryer. We asked for towels which we got but not sufficient for an apartment with no washer dryer. We talked to owner who explained reason for misrepresentation but that doesnât satisfy us and more importantly the description of flat is still false continuing to say there is a washer dryer on a number of sites.
We had a most enjoyable week in St Ives, staying in Barnoon flat 1. The flat had everything we needed and was a very good base for exploring St Ives and other places in the area. We hadn't stayed in St Ives before and thought it was delightful but very crowded, especially during the day. We enjoyed a boat trip to seal island, walks to Carbis Bay and in Zennor, Barbara Hepworth's studio and garden, one bracing swim and several excellent dinners, especially at Alba, The Black Rock and the Seafood Cafe. Further afield, we visited RSPB Hayle Estuary (by train), the Minack theatre, Penzance and the tin mine at Levant which was fascinating. The only downside to St Ives is the difficulty parking: in the whole week we only managed once to find a space in the Barnoon carpark, having to use the big one in Trenwith the rest of the time. The walk up and down the steep hills was a good work-out but pretty miserable if it was raining.
We were out and about most of the time but might have felt a little cramped if we had been confined to the flat by the weather. The bed is very comfortable, the sofa less so. The flat was clean and tidy and the TV, washing machine etc all worked well and there was enough storage space for our stuff. The best thing about the flat is undoubtedly the view over St Ives bay which is stunning. It changes with the hour and the weather but is always beautiful. I would recommend the flat to any couple who don't mind walking up and down steep hills.
Einfaches sauberes Appartment an sehr schöner Lage
Cosy flat -in quiet street -just 5mins from all local shops, galleries, beach -with simple but comfy fold- down bed. Fantastic views of the town and bay-each morning we raised the blinds and watched the sunrise while lying in bed!

Location was fantastic. Views beautiful. But everything felt shabby. Sitting room furniture uncomfortable, rugs need cleaning. Bedroom mattress so uncomfortable we slept only a few hours per night. Duvet cover snaps melted, so cover kept coming off. But the towels we paid extra for were very nice, but I resent paying for basic needs.
The flat was comfortable ,with plenty of space as there was a bedroom, separate lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Well located - just a five minute walk down to town and harbour . From the bay window I particularly loved the view down to the boats in the harbour. The flat was a 5 minute walk to St Ives School of painting where I did a weekend course .
Great location, beautiful view from front window. Walking distance to everything of interest in St Ives.
Fantastic place to stay, just seems a shame that this property will change to only two guests as it has a perfectly good sofa bed in the front room. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you.
Arrived at the property, it hadn't been cleaned and there was no clean bed linen. After a long journey there was not even a welcome pack, which would have been very nice as we could not even get a cup of tea or coffee! Then the day before we came home the boiler decided not to work, we were told that as it was a bank holiday it was not very easy to get hold of a plumber and we should use kettles to have a bath, really, it did get repaired.

Hello! We are Mary and Henry Brown, the owners. We live in London and have a wonderful team of people in St Ives who help us to take care of Barnoon and Seabirds House. Henry looks after any issues with the building, and I manage the bookings. I really enjoy the contact with our guests - many regulars feel like friends even when all the contact has been by email. Apart from St Ives and family, our main interest is sailing - in a dinghy on the Thames and a bigger boat on the sea.
We bought our Barnoon Flat in 1998 - we fell in love with the view. And Barnoon Terrace, being pedestrian only, is wonderfully quiet. You look out over gardens and rooftops to the wide sweep of St Ives Bay and the lovely harbour. Not a car in sight. We let the flat to other holidaymakers as well as using it ourselves from the start. Then we saw another property just up the hill which was in a very sorry state and managed to buy that and have the inside completely rebuilt making 5 more lovely flats. It's called Seabirds House - see E13912.
