A comfortable home from which to see the wonders of North Norfolk
It felt like being at home - everything that we needed was available and it felt cosy and comfortable (in spite of fairly bad weather). Our only complaint was that the house was very cold when we arrived - it clearly had not been occupied for some time - advanced turning on of the heating would have been nice.
Advertised as having a hot tub- there isnât one. Unable to open the back doors to access the garden, however the grass hadnât been cut for some time so wouldnât have been usable. Has the potential to be a really nice property but needs some TLC and more preparation before visitorâs arrive
This spacious house had everything we required, fully stocked with every utensil and home comfort you could possibly need. The small enclosed garden was perfect for our puppy and enabled us to enjoy a delicious BBQ. The bedrooms were all comfortable and had good views from the windows. The property was private and quiet, but also near the park and a very good, gastro pub.
The cottage was grubby, had not been well cleaned. The kitchen drawers are full of mid matched and grubby cutlery and utensils, someone needs to really empty everything out and throw away a lot of the old. There were dead black flies everywhere, stains on the carpets, the walls need a good painting. The enclosed garden doesnât have any lawn, just weeds. The whole place needs a refresh and a good clean. We left a day early as a result.
Great stay at the property with family of 5 and 2 dogs, the house has everything you need and is located in a great place to explore the 3 great beaches in the area, all within a 15 minute drive.
Would defo be back
Brilliant location for exploring the area and large, spacious property.
Unfortunately, as others have commented, the cottage was very grubby. The oilskin tablecloth was sticky and had food on it; the cushion on the bedroom chair had some sort of wet food stuff all over it; the sheets in one bedroom had some blood on them. Especially in these Covid times it was very off putting and not nice to have start your holiday by cleaning your accomodation.
Overall we had a lovely week in South Creake. The cottage is well located for the pretty beaches and market towns of North Norfolk. There is ample parking and the cottage is very well equipped. The listing could do with updating to include all of the amenities/facilities such as travel cot, high chair, camping/beach chairs etc.
The cottage is well laid out and the bedrooms are comfortable. The kitchen/dining area is also a great sociable/family space.
However, our week got off to a bad start when we found the majority of the cottage in a very grubby condition. The owner was quick to respond and follow up with the cleaning company, but we did have to give the property a clean in many areas such as (to name a few) mopping the floors, vacumming animal hair off the sofas and living room rug, cleaning the cutlery and kitchen drawers and cupboards which had lots of dirt and old food in them and cleaning the microwave etc.
We were, however, satisfied with how the owner dealt with this and would return to the property if these issues were rectified.
Placed in a good location to visit North Norfolk, this cottage was perfect. With 3 comfortable double bedrooms and a good sized lounge and kitchen it was an excellent base to return to after our days out exploring Norfolk.
We had a great week in this deceptively spacious cottage. Fantastic tucked away location close to beaches, Burnham Market etc. Would definitely stay again
Wouldn't go here again, such a grubby, dirty house in the time of COVID ~ unbelieveable how this property manages to get a pass to enable it to be listed. We have rented houses for holiday use for many years and have never come across anything so bad before. It makes me wonder if I can trust this agent again. I tried to contact the owner on one occasion during our stay and she didn't even bother to reply, says a lot.
We had a wonderful stay in the holiday cottage. It is very well proportioned with plenty of space, and there was every conceivable appliance in the kitchen. Crucially for me as a freelancer, the wifi was excellent so I could work smoothly. The location is great - close enough to beaches but not on one of the sometimes rather congested routes to the sea experienced in other villages. Communication with the owner was excellent and we really appreciated being granted permission for my brother and his wife to join us for one night. Thank you so much, we highly recommend!
Pretty, well-equipped house in a very tranquil setting. I stayed here with friends as a last-minute booking after our holiday abroad was cancelled and it felt like a home from home; the kitchen is a large and social area with everything you may need and the lounge is very cosy, especially as we utilised the open fire place. The only negative is you may struggle to seat everyone if the house is full to capacity with six people, however there are a couple of beanbags.
The beds are comfortable and bedding of nice quality.
I would definitely recommend having a car available to get out and about; there is plenty to see and do - boat trips from Morston quay to spot seals, the lovely house and grounds of Holkam Hall, quaint village of Burnham Market, beautiful sandy beaches at Wells next the Sea and Brancaster, shopping in King's Lynn, the Sandringham estate and seaside attractions at Hunstanton. You won't be short of things to do and see and great places at which to eat and drink.
It was our first time in Norfolk but we will definitely be back!
great place to stay. heating system needs bit more explanation- was freezing on arrival-but we got a fire going and it was ok after that. Very comfortable and well placed for local beaches
If you like peace and quiet. This is the place for you. Just had four nights here and it was chill factor 10. Very very child/dog friendly place. Short drive to most places. Wells.holkham. brancaster etc. I would like to say that there was a few cobwebs. Crumbs and areas that we cleaned when we arrived. And we are not house proud people. Dont mind lived in. Dont want other people's muck. Especially if you employ a cleaner. That said. Would definitely stay here again. Yes its definitely ready for a refresh. The lawn really needed cutting on account it was about a foot high!!. So when your dog goes for a poo it gets a bit messy when you try and clean it up. I am only being honest as i dont know if the owner. Who seems like a nice genuine person visits the house to see the aforementioned comments. We probably left it a bit cleaner when we vacated.
This property was just perfectly placed, within easy reach of all tourist attractions. This has been the first time I have rented a cottage and I must say won't be the last it was cosy and well equipped home from home.
We enjoyed our stay in this attractive and very well equipped, warm and comfortable cottage, which is set in a lovely quiet location. It is an easy 10 minute drive to Burnham Market, and slightly less to the useful farm shop and cafe at Creake Abbey. Surrounding countryside is very pretty too.
The house is owned by my brother and I, we bought it in 2011 after selling our parents home who have sadly both passed away. We have spent a lot of time and money in doing the whole house up and modernising it. However we felt it was important to still keep a traditional feel, therefore much of the old furniture around the house especially in the living room is from our parents home. We hope that you feel at home here and enjoy the house as much as we both do when we stay!

We both grew up not too far away and were keen to have a place near the sea to spend time during our holidays. South Creake is a delightful village, full of charm, but sufficiently detached from some of the crowds that inhabit other places nearby during busy periods. We love the fact that the property is set back from the main road up a quiet lane. There are plenty of parking spaces. The village green and village pub are only a few minutes walk away, and the stream and pond are ideal attractions for young children. The house itself receives lots of natural light and all the appliances are brand new and of a high standard. There is outdoor space to the front and in the rear garden which can be used for relaxing and eating.
