The Stables is a charming 2 bedroom cottage snuggled in the tranquil village of Great Walsingham. This single storey traditional flint cottage is immaculately presented with a contemporary finish. The property has private parking facilities and is just one mile from Little Walsingham and five miles from the famous sublime North Norfolk Coast. Great Walsingham quieter and more rural that its nearest neighbour, Little Walsingham. Despite its name this small conservation village sits in the vale of the River Stiffkey amongst a scattering of country cottages, farmhouses and timber framed buildings including 16th century Berry Hall where it is said that Henry V111 first met Anne Boleyn. A very short walk from The Stables are the Great Walsingham Barns, which houses a popular cafe and other well established craft based businesses. Little Walsingham, a medieval village, is a centre of pilgrimage with two Roman Catholic Shrines. The village is also renowned for the 20-acre Walsingham Abbey ground containing the ruins of the Augustinian Priory dating back to 1153. Little Walsingham supports an amazing number of shops mainly tourist/pilgrim shops but also an award winning farm shop, antique shops, tea shops and two public houses. The Wells and Walsingham Light Railway links Little Walsingham to the coastal town of Wells-next-the sea, some five miles away. The Stables is perfectly located for you to explore North Norfolk, it's stately homes, stunning wildlife and glorious beaches.
On the whole the property was nice. Contemporary and fairly well equipped. When we arrived the property was very cold. I emailed Hostess Maxine and she remotely sorted out the heating for us which we were thankful for. The cleaners need to pay more attention to the cutlery as some were rusty and dirty. The settee was also stained on one side. We were happy with the area where the cottage was. Central for the coast and all amenities.
The stables was the perfect base to explore North Norfolk. Very cosy and comfortable with everything you need.We will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.It was very quiet whilst we were there with was heaven!
Great location for exploring North Norfolk. Check in was very easy, the cottage is very well equipped and comfy. Sunny weekend made the stay even better.
Just what we needed, close to the thursford christmas spectacular and other places to visit. Clean, tidy, all the facilities we needed. Excellent local cafe a few yards away.
We stayed at the Stables Monday to Friday and it was the perfect place for us to base ourselves to explore our favourite parts of North Norfolk.
The property itself was had everything we needed as a family of four and the local village / villages were a delight to explore.
We had a lovely stay, couldnât ask for anything more. The stables are just as described - made for a lovely break. Quick response from Maxine when we needed to contact her. Would definitely stay here again. ( bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival was a nice touch).
This is an excellent property in a quiet location near to the coast. It contains everything you need. Our grandson didnât want to leave. Maxine is a very good host. The wine and biscuits were a lovely touch. We will be back!
The Stables is an excellently furnished and spotlessly clean cottage. Comfortable furnishing. Peaceful environment. We were attending the annual South Wales Pilgrimage to the Anglican Shrine in Little Walsingham and it proved a good base. Would recommend this cottage.
Lovely modern little cottage, with the bonus of excellent off road parking for two cars. Very quiet location, ideally situated for exploring North Norfolk.
Such a lovely cottage to stay in.
Excellent location, quiet and relaxing, in easy reach of all the main towns and coast line.
Thank you Maxine, we will make sure we make it longer next time.
