Lovely, cosy cottage in an idyllic tranquil location. Well equipped and comfortable, it was the perfect base for exploring Norfolk coast and countryside. Wells by the sea is a short drive away and Sherringham and Cromer are also within easy reach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
My son and I enjoyed a long weekend here in May. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well equipped with a nice little sunny garden. We had a great weekend, but we are both tall and had to watch our heads in places and I at 70 found the stairs a challenge.
Great little cottage stay.Stayed as a family with a 3 and 6 year old and they loved all the games and book provided! Also there was a bed guard which was great!(Also saw a travel cot, spare single mattress and highchair - so really well set up for kids! The stairs are steep but this is mentioned in the listing (our trick was to keep the bathroom door fully open at night and it kept the stairs blocked for any child night time wakes ups and wandering lol)Recommend the light railway to Wells, walkable from the house! Thanks for having us!
Great property within easy reach of lots of things to do. We visited with our 3 and 5 year old and was well set up. Owner was friendly and helpful with all the information we needed. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Thanks. Really enjoyed our stay here.
It is very quiet but not far from Wells and many other places of interest. It is great that you can easily walk into the village and to the coffee shop at Great Walsingham barns.
World highly recommend
We enjoyed our stay. Cottage was well provisioned and located. Stone walls kept us cool in the heat and but low ceilings caught me out a few times! There was plenty of hot water when needed. A great base for exploring from.
Throughly enjoyed our stay at Poppy Cottage.
The cottage was warm and cosy and well kitted out with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Even had a little robin to greet us every morning!
The countryside around is beautiful and I took advantage of this by taking lots of walks around Great and Little Walsingham. So near to the coast too.
I certainly will be booking this cottage again.
Thank you to the owners!
My wife and I stayed at the cottage with our 8 week old son and we had an absolutely wonderful stay. The cottage is very well equipped, clean and very homely and cosy. We were very comfortable here and the travel cot was certainly ideal for our baby. Chloe was very helpful and easy to contact. The joys of the North Norfolk coast are a short drive away and beautiful and historic Little Walsingham is a short walk away. This cottage helped to give us a special memory of our first holiday with our baby :)
Poppy Cottage had everything we needed for our short stay. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, crockery etc. the location was ideal for exploring North Norfolk and it was lovely to wake to the sound of birdsong and no traffic noise!
Lovely cottage. Very clean and well equipped. Beds and sofas very comfortable. The stairs are very steep do it was a little concerning with regards to the 3 year old falling down them when she woke first in the morning but the bathroom door actually opens perfectly onto the stairs and wedged nicely with a door wedge so served as a door to keep her safe. Really good size porch at the back of the house which was great for changing out of sandy shoes and storing cases etc. The owners provide a lovely collection of young childrens reading books, dvds and a really good collection of games, toys and puzzles so you can limit the amount you take with you (we didn't). The kite was a big hit. Our 5 year old proudly flew it on the beach. Village not really close to any beach but some lovely sandy beaches within 20 to 30 minutes in the car. A lovely stay all round.
A lovely property, clean, comfortable and all you need for a peaceful stay away from home.
Lovely to have an outside area to sit with a morning coffee or evening drink.
Communication with/from owner was excellent.
Only slight drawback - which can't be helped in the rural location - is narrow road with no pavement walk into Walsingham centre, so take your wine/gin with you for the evening đ
This property was in a wonderful location for our purposes, namely, to do a short pilgrimage to Our Lady of Walsingham. We walked nearly everywhere except for a couple of dinners which weren't within easy walking distance. The home was quaint, very clean, and comfortable. The host gave good recommendations for touring locally, which we appreciated. This was our first time in the English countryside and it was absolutely stunning, plus the local folks we met were all very friendly. We would stay here again!
Everything was really nice. One thing perhaps a warning as to how steep the stairs are. The lower hand rail section is a bit loose just needs the screws tightened up. Very well equipped and decorated. Area handy for inland and coastal exploring.
The cottage is situated in a lovely spot, suoer quiet and yet within a short distance to skme beautiful local sights, Walsingham Abbey being a main draw, and the little tea rooms next to it.
The property was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The hosts were great at communication and we look forward to our next stay.
We fell instantly in love with Poppy Cottage. Going during a cold spell it was delightfully cosy and warm. The property was very well equipped. Instruction before we arrived and in the cottage were very clear. The location is just charming and central for visiting the area. Highly recommended.
Lovely cottage in a quiet area. Plenty to do within easy reach Past review said stairs were steep but my wife has had two hip replacements managed OK. No problems. Tea room and bookshop by the pump in Walsingham worth a visit
We love our family cottage and have been enjoying happy holidays here since the late 1970s, when the cottage was bought by our Grandparents. Now lovingly refurbished for guests, whilst keeping the character features.
